To answer your questions: 1. I do bake my own bread so probs gonna steal your recipe! 😉 2. We actually skipped presents this year! Just enjoyed lots of good food. 😄 But if I ever wish for something it's always pracitcal presents too lol. And just a comment on getting up early: I've started getting up at 5AM so I definitely know what you mean! I feel so much better... and this is coming from a notoriously chronic night owl. 😂 EDIT: Oooh you play the guitar? 😍 Would love to hear you play for us sometime! 😁

Thank you!!! These last 12 days have been awesome! Ending with a ramble is perfect. It’s funny you mention the queues with snow. The same thing happens here. The threat of snow makes eggs, milk, and bread disappear. I do like making my own bread. I make Ethiopian defo dabo and Italian Easter bread. Homemade bread is the best!

This was such a nice way to end the 12 days. I could listen to this all day. In fact I've gone back to older ones and listen why I paint and draw. I wished for some peppermint tea and a cup which I got, and I also got some more art material. Thank you for making my christmas more tolerable. Merry christmas to you and everyone here.

A perfect ending to the 12 Days of Christmas! I always enjoy a glimpse into your real world with an always inspiring ramble!!😘 Bread baking is the first thing mom taught us to make. Mom would measure ingredients into this gigantic bowl, attach a dough hook to it and I would turn it until a ball formed the size of a ⚽️. Then mom would cut it into 4 pieces and she and us 3 girls each made our own loaf. My favorite part was kneading it and forming it into a fluffy, smooth loaf, patting it like a baby’s bottom, lol!! I always made cinnamon raisin😋 I loved hard cover books and craft supplies growing up. We were a tennis family so everyone got a new can of tennis balls in our stockings. As an adult, my favorite gift is anything skincare, especially hand cream!! As much as I wash and sanitize my hands, I can never have enough lotion! Anything with Shea butter! In Oceanside, CA with my youngest sister and her fur kids-Brutus, a Boxer, and Daphne, a Dachshund looking rescue, entertaining them really, relaxing and cooking. I can’t thank you enough for all the joy you’ve brought us with this series of audios! I recognize and acknowledge all the extra time, hard work and creativity you’ve given us-so grateful!! Omg, could you get any more adorable?! Thank you for making Christmas so much fun! Are you going to come back to the threads for future audios? There were so many amazing ideas, I wondered the whole time how you'd be able to pick 12 of them. My sister actually got bread baking supplies for Christmas 😅 she started building a bread/pizza oven in our garden this summer, but we ran out of bricks about half way through (long story) so it's still an ongoing project. I'm easy to please when it comes to gifts but it doesn't necessarily have to be useful 😅 I got some makeup, jewelry, perfume, a jumper, a purse, my sister got me Christmas PJs with dogs on sleighs on it 😀 This year, we didn't put our tree in its usual spot (in the attic lol) cause my mom has sore legs atm and climbing up the stairs would have been a little difficult for her. But we have very little space in the kitchen, so we put it on a small wagon and constantly move the tree around. It's actually pretty funny, like when you cook and you need pots or stuff, it's like you're dancing with the tree 😂 I don't have any new years resolutions yet, gotta think of something... maybe upping my kickbox training again, I think that sounds like a good one ☺️ I hope you have amazing holidays and enjoy your bread and bananas! 😘

And to answer your questions: Yes I bake my own bread when I run out of pita bread. Pita bread is a thing in my home, thanks to tradition & culture! Same ingredients as the ones you've used, but what I like to do is to mix whole wheat & white flour together and also I like to add Anise seed & Black seed to my bread. Gives it a nice smell and taste. And health wise Anise & Black seeds are actually healthy and good for the stomach and for the body as a whole. Give it ago, you won't regret it. Actually the other day I baked with my mama and she added turmeric powder to the dough, just a lil bit and I must Say, it was delish. Gave it a nice smell and colour as well 😊 Yes I think you've granted couple of my ideas in an audio or two, so I thank ya for that. I mean really, I think you've used everyone's ideas in all your prompts so the mixing of ideas worked fairly out to all of us! You did a wonderful job sweetheart 😘😘 You know, there isn't an Irish person I've met without a singing or playing an instrument skill and I kind of knew maybe those golden fingers of yours have skills as well. I'm glad you'll get back to playing guitar again and please share some of your progress with us ❤💚 As to new year's revolutions, I do have a couple, one of them is to finish my Law studies and change employment to somewhere closer to where I live. Hopefully meet the right fella for me, get married & start my own family 😊 I think I'm ready for this as I was terrified of the whole aspect of it for the longest time, which drove my mama bananas 😂😂 (she always was afraid that it might be too late for me! I don't believe anything is late or not. They are either meant to be or not - really). Sorry ma! I really don't know why, but now I know I'm ready! I'm up for the challenge I guess 😅😅

always love your rambles, your kitchen rambles are the best. We had a family emergency about 2 weeks ago that has postponed Christmas, so I'm having a relaxing day. I work retail, so the season is always a bit crazy, but you helped me get through the push, knowing when I got home from work after 9 hours I had a present from you, so thank you so much for all that you do. not a baker, but do enjoy cooking. I don't make resolutions, but to be the best me I can be, continue down the road in my stop the madness trek to fitness, lost 35 lbs over 2 years, this year got side tracked a bit, but just getting back on track with eating better, be more veggie centric, go on my morning walks, I hear you about getting up early and out, get 3 miles in and home by 9am, gives me 2 hours for the rest of my morning before I have to get to work. Hope your day has been filled with awesome, and so glad I found this awesome bubble of happiness and love. Giant hugs to you

Yes, I bake my own bread too. It doesn’t seem to last that long though. I have 13 nephews and 1 niece plus 3 great nephews. They all live close by so when I make it they are on the way over. Lol! My favorite 2 gifts I have ever gotten: my husband sang me an Elvis song one year and made me a few little things. Loved that Christmas. ❤️ The other gift was my nephew Nick were a song and played it on his guitar for everyone at our Christmas dinner, all 30+ of us. Merry Christmas to all!

I had a chance to listen this now, went to see my brother and his family earlier.😄💖 I love to bake if I just get the time for it, this weekend I'll make graham rusks for mom. 😊 This year my best present was the look on my nephew's face when he got long wool socks from me. I put all the love in them and he put them on straight away! 😄💖💖 He gave me a "gift" too! I had a musix box as a baby, and I gave it to him when he was born. Today he gave it back with "thank you aunt Heidi for lending this to me" 😭💖💖💖😄😄 Heyyy, if you have any tips for learning to play the guitar I'd love to know. P.S. To answer your questions: One type of bread I really enjoy making is socca. It’s an acquired taste but it is vegan and also great if you’re into slow carbs. I *think* it is Italian or Mediterranean flatbread (someone correct me if I’m mistaken about the origins). Recipe: One cup chickpea flour to one cup filtered water. Add 3 T extra virgin olive oil and whisk it all together. I also like to add some sea salt and black sesame seeds, or rosemary, or whatever herbs I have on hand. Then let it rest while you heat your cast iron skillet in the oven at 350. When it’s preheated, you pour your mixture into the hot skillet and bake for 20 min or until the edges start to pull away from the sides of the pan. It will be damp when you cut into it but will firm up the longer you let it sit. It’s really not bread-like — sort of closer to polenta on the inside — but it’s fun to mess around with different ingredients and toppings. I like to use this as an alternative to pizza crust when my family eats pizza because too much flour & processed foods make me feel blah and makes my hip joints ache. What I got from Santa: my favy thing came from my 2 year old niece — a nice bamboo spatula with a hedgehog design on it 🦔💖. My cousin in Michigan sent me a tee shirt from my friend’s husband’s tattoo parlor. It seems odd, but very thoughtful actually because I had planned to buy one while up there last summer but I ran out of time. The shirt is a babydoll fit and a bit tight but yowza, it makes the tits look good so I don’t mind 👀🤣 Good for you for taking up guitar again! I have been thinking about taking guitar or piano lessons for some time now, I just dunno which or when I’ll have time to practice. I suppose if I love it, I’ll make the time. Resolutions/goals: Gradually increase my swim laps to about three miles per week. Add weight training at least two to three times per week. I dunno what kind or how much, I have way too many options at the gym and too many fit friends giving me conflicting advice, it’s overwhelming for this unfocused anxiety girl. I used to do toning/sculpting and yoga until I started working from home and that was the first thing to give way. My swim partner also wants us to do a 5k together — walking, not running. Enjoyed every bit of it 😁 I do occasionally bake different types of rolls from scratch for special occasions. I do want to make my own loaf bread; it just taste better than store bought. I love baking my own bread. I grew up on our family farm back in Michigan, so just about EVERYTHING was homemade or handmade. I love making the flavored breads (apple raisin, pumpkin spice, banana). My gifts I like to get are things I can use for the house. Or notebooks and pens. I like clothes too, especially 1950s and 1920s style dresses, traditional Japanese, Celtic, or African clothing, anything I can incorporate into my daily style (plus my preschoolers love Ms. Mina's awesome style😉). For a while, back when I was still in martial arts, mom would get me a wakizashi sword and a matching metal fan. I still have them and I practice with them every now and then. My resolutions (That I've started already🙃): Get back down to my football weight, get back into dance class and martial arts, dip my toes back into acting, go to the museum at least once a month...most importantly, get back to being the badass goddess I know I can be.😉😘 This year, I got a traditional Japanese kimono and sandals. I have another gift on the way, but no one will tell me what it is! The suspense is killing me!🤣 I hope Gael and the rest of you lovelies are having an amazing Christmas! I was that child why If Santa goes house to house leaves no evidence etc parents decided to make fake boot prints on the floor woke up Christmas Day saw them called my parents out it was my brothers boots from work

This was a nice audio to listen to as Christmas Day winds down. I remember being a curious girl and one day sneaking into the bathroom and looking out a window to see my parents dragging in the gifts from Santa. However, we have a separate tradition where on Jan. 6, kids would get gifts from the 3 Wise Men in their shoes. Caught on really quickly that the wise men had the same writing as mom and dad 😅

Yay for Gael & christmas bread baking ramble! I love baking bread, all types of bread to be honest, just for the challenge of it and I guess enjoyment, too 😁 There’s this great thing called a “Danish Dough Whisk” which is perfect for all sorts of different bread doughs because it helps with not over-mixing batters AND helps if you hate the sticky doughy hands 😂 My new thing this year will be a homemade sourdough starter to make bread with no commercial yeast, just using a sourdough starter with its own natural yeasts. Santa gave me a couple of new oxygen bags — really, they’re just regular bags/backpacks designated for use for my portable oxygen tanks 😄 Also gave me a cute new watch, teapot, and a small bowl, condiment saucer & asian-style teacup.... oh a couple pairs of pyjamas. Hope all the lovelies have had a wonderful Christmas! ❤️❤️

There’s something satisfying and therapeutic about baking bread..This reminds me of my grams teaching me how to make her honey whole wheat bread that they used for toast and sandwiches every day.
