The Sour Graps duo review movies starring professional wrestlers.
Mostly, the movies are bad. We make fun of them.
We call it "THIS. IS. CINEMA?"
Tonight's episode:
In the summer of 2020, during the height of the COVID pandemic, a little film was released for rent on digital services everywhere.
Its cast boasted Thomas Jane (The Punisher, Deep Blue Sea), Denise Richards (Wild Things, Starship Troopers) and Kelsey Grammer (Frasier Crane himself).
But the starring role was played by Adam Copeland, who had recently put his burgeoning acting career on hold and made an improbable return to WWE at the 2020 Royal Rumble.
The movie was about a team of professional thieves, led by Copeland, who are forced into a suicide job by Kelsey Grammer: board and and take down the Money Plane, an airborne casino with a clientele made up of international criminals.
It cost about $600,000 to make, was released in four theaters, in Russia, and made $618 dollars.
It is a terrible movie. Not even "so bad it's good". It's just BAD.
But IS. IT. CINEMA?
