A top AEW talent is taking time off.

Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed that Darby Allin has been off the road of late and hasn't been at AEW TV. We're told that Allin has started his training for Mt. Everest, and isn't expected back for months.

Allin last competed at the December 22 AEW Dynamite in a time limit draw against Ricochet. The word internally was that Allin would be slated for a push upon his returns, which would not be expected until the spring.

god i really hope he doesn’t die up there🙏😭

Dragmire

So we should move on from the idea that he will dethrone Mox. Got it.

MB

Sets him up nicely to take the title at All In Texas.

James Stevenson

Please don’t die Darby 🙏🫡

The Chillest Villain

…. I genuinely forgot he was still trying to do Everest, but if the rumors are true and the point of the Death Riders story is to put over Allin,,,, we’re waiting at least until April for this??????

Jesse Folkers

Please wrap the dead riders nonsense up NOWWWWWW don’t let me suffer for months

Chris Kessler

Do you not consider getting Pilmanized and thrown down a flight of stairs as a means of writing him off?

Chris Kessler

Jay White, time to break his foot again. But seriously good luck Darby.

Taters Precious

You gotta put the phone down and pay attention the the TV if you expect to know what happened

Insomnia Inc

This final destination sequel is starting to feel maybe a little bit too real.

If all goes well, that would seem to peg his potential return as just in time to take the title off of Mox at Double or Nothing. I’m not saying I’m in favor of that, since the Death Riders angle is dying such a slow death, but it would line up. Maybe Copeland/Mox can liven it up with some good matches at Revolution and into April, but I’m not holding my breath.

CSDX

He's still trying to make that happen? I hope he'll come back alive.

JDenise

Wishing him well then. This is his dream and I hope he can see it through and return safely

Matthew

April to early June is prime climbing season for Everest so that kind of gives us a window.

Stephen Bradley

Jeez 5 more months of Moxs dire reign

Lynchman

While I think that was the plan, they will pull the plug before that. It just isn't working. My money is on Osprey.
