Some thumbnailing was done a week or so ago for an idea centering around Aeryn (Ash's character) in Abysm and her guild Limpet.  I expanded the idea a bit more today as a project I want to work on.

The militant industrialized guild resides closest to the eye of the storm, resorting to constant mobility to avoid the storm surges of portals from the Abyss.  The guild is superior technologically to every other faction on the Surface map, mastering diving into the Abyss with drilling technology to bore through the maze.  The faction, headed by Caspian, has more progression through the maze than any other major faction and supposedly the most Artifacts in it's possession.

Limpet remains in a truce with the other guilds in exchange for territory closest to the epicenter and the most intense parts of the storm.  Out past beyond the breakers where pirates scavenge, a colossal mechanical crawler braves the most hostile regions of Surface. However, due to the guild's status with weaponry and technology, many pirates dare test Limpet to acquire their sought-after equipment. Limpet doesn't take kindly to thieves.

Pictured above is Aeryn, a member of Caspian's elite platoon, is the highest ranking ranged soldier of Limpet, and using her biomechanical eye, she can link up to the ballista engines to defend the guild.  Each giant bow is robotically controlled by Aeryn's eye and movements.  Accompanied with some twilight hour target practice, the pirates should have more than enough to deal with.

Small looping animation idea that I want to try.  Four bow firing animations + a small archer loop. I'll update more as I go with this one.
