Happy Tuesday!
Hope you're ready for a real badass movie today, because Riddick is probably the coolest character I've ever seeeeeeen! If you guys know of any comic books with Riddick in them please let me know... I must read them ALL! Also, this movie was amazing. 10/10, wouldn't change a thing.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING !!! I need to go buy a lottery ticket first ... I feel like the whole movie I will be going : "If only you knew" - Riddick looks like a survivor - What if there are monsters here - If you make that hole I would not get that close to it ... The list just keeps going :) Please tell me you will watch the rest of them too! People love to hate on some of them but I love every one of them. 2000s Sci-Fi suggestions : Well we already have The Expanse but that is a TV series, one if not the best one in the space SciFi genre to come out in a long time. Movies (in no order): - Signs, Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix - Star Wars 1-6 at the minimum ... gotta have that ... 7-9 you should but just to have the set - Cloverfield, this one did me in bad ... - Avatar, must watch also - The Matrix, 1-3 and suffer an existential crisis after ... The 4th is optional and again just to complete the set - X-men, sure - Blade 1-3, not the space kind of sci-fi ... more fiction than sci-fi but still. - John Carter, Man of Mars ... inspired by the first novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs - Oh my lord I almost forgot this absolute gem : Equilibrium ... Absolute killer movie. There that should be a start to be getting on with.

Sorry homie, no comics, but you have 2 more movies and a very good video game. The Chronicles of Riddick is next and it is SOOOO ambitious and the cast is insane. Thandiwe Newton, Judy Dench, Karl Urban... and it just got a 4K re-master with the full open frame so it's almost like IMAX. Some people hate it, I love it's ambitious scope. And for the time, it does some INCREDIBLY based things.

Equilibrium is my go to suggestion for an early 2000s stylized scifi flick similar to this. Has Christian Bale, that locked in Hong Kong camera work like Face/Off and the Matrix in the west, and the practical effects/fight choreography are just insane. We're talking about accounting for individual squibbs for shooting scenes. Honorable trash mentions to, uh, never subject anyone else to around the same time: XChange (2001) and Narcosys (2000). Very low budget and not even inventive, but a quality watch you'd get done a few beers deep and way before the late fees came into play.

Just got the 4K copy in the mail. Glad it’s the director’s cut. About 7 minutes of more action and character.
