There's a line in the opening song, "You are the real enemy," and I think that perfectly encapsulates what the final season and a good chunk of AoT is really about. That scream that Zeke did to turn all those parachuters into titans was the same thing that turned the people in Connie's village into titans. Those were also the same titans that attacked them at utgard castle in season 2

Pretty sure you finally realized but yes, Ymir ate Marcel. Marcel inherited the Jaw titan, got eaten by Ymir (who was a pure titan sleeping in the ground for decades), Ymir became the Jaw titan, Ymir went back to Marley as part of a deal with Reiner/Zeke/Bertholdt, Ymir was eaten by Porco/Galliard, now Porco is the Jaw titan.

Clarifications: Episode 1 3 to 4 years have passed since the end of season 3 and 9 years have passed since the beginning of the show so Reiner and Zeke are going to die soon because of the curse of Ymir that's why they need to pass on their Titans. Since Marley lost the female and colossal Titan they were seriously weakened so their enemies (the Mid-eastern alliance) realized it would be a good time to attack them that's why they were in a war for 4 years until now. ONLY ELDIANS CAN TURN INTO TITANS, NO OTHER RACE IN THE WORLD CAN that's why all the candidates and all the Titan users are Eldians and Zeke has royal Blood but no one other than him knows that, that's why he can control Titans and transform people who have been ejected with Titan fluid with just a screen. Episode 2 So Marcel had originally the Jaw titan and Ymir ate him so she got the jaw titan and now since she went with Reiner and Bertdholt back to Marley she was eaten by Porco Galliard (that's his full name) so Ymir has been dead for years. Zeke and the Marlin officials need to reignite the hatred of the world for the people in paradies (the island devils) so they would help in an future invasion of paradie. The Tybur family who even though are Eldians are loved by the entire of the world and are also the holders of the Warhammer Titan are chosen to be the ones to reignite that hate. Episode 3 Don't worry you are supposed to love and forgive Reiner in this episode. You nailed it Reiner and Bertdholt were forced to do this by their families in the military. Also Annie was in the underground when she met Kenny that's because she was trying to find the traces of the true royal family (the Reice family) and since Kenny was working for them it would only be a matter of time before they would cross paths. And Pieck's Titan the cart Titan (that's its name) gifts its user immense endurance and the ability to stay in Titan form for months without untransforming something other than users cannot do, that's what she meant in episode 2 when she said that she has been a Titan for months and forgot how it felt to be walking on two legs. In addition what Marcel tried to do was to say good things to the Marleyian generals about Reiner and bad things about his brother so they would choose Reiner as the armored Titan because Marcel didn't want his brother to die so early because inheriting a Titan is essentially a death sentence because you're destined to die in 13 years maximum only if you're not killed in battle and Marcel did not want that for his brother. That's why he was saying sorry to ride her so many times.

You kinda need to look at some scenes with a different perspective. For example the scene were rainer told his family about his time with with eren and the others, what rainer said was a complete no go from someone in his position. He described the eldians on the island as normal people and not the devils gabi and most eldians on the marley side are indoctrinated to hate since birth. Gabi is not a bad person, but she woud shoot e.g. a child if its from the island, because she was forced to believe that the islanders are pure evil. So telling her (and the others) that there are normal people like everyone else on this island is a major sin in marley, thats why rainers mother was "scared", she feared the SS
