Sketchbook Update 72 (Patreon)
Content
I feel like patreon has gotten really slow for loading images... lmk if you think I should start making pdf's again!
The stuff at the start is all things I haven't yet shared online, I'm struggling with how to organise my sharing lately! Alas, if I could have a 'fanart' and 'non-fanart' post that would be so good...but UM its all fanart. Thank you very much for the dollar. I hope you like gay fantasy elves. <3
I don't think I ever shared my new sketchbook cover, it's not exactly new anymore, but I really like it haha! it's kind of exciting getting to set a theme, and to pull out my obscene stationary collection to match the theme (I based this one on that giraffe, and the bunny). [giraffe from beckytarts, lots of the other bits are very old school supplies I was given, probably from the 70s+]
ALSO I wanted to show my new years bingo, which is an idea from a friend! You put down a bunch of goals, and if you get bingo, NICE, if not, who cares! I like the idea that its ok and expected to not achieve them all. I think you're supposed to do 5x5 but thats so many haha!
I've decided to make it all personal and not work based, (tho having art as a hobby And a job is complicated lol) but I'm hoping I can do more varied stuff this year. I feel like I rely too much on 'likes' for happiness- and I could do with finding other places to get it. On some of the bingo squares I've left a space for putting little stickers if I do it more than once, honestly I could have maybe thought about it all a bit better, but it's good! its fine! Going into the new year giving less of a shit is probably good idk. I feel like I'm easily suckered in to the perfect pretty bullet journal/lifestyle youtuber propaganda around this time of year, which is never good for me and just makes me feel BAD because I am doomed to fail. ANYWAY that's why I did it on old craft paper with crayola markers and tape. It's Intentionally ugly so I don't feel bad about it not being beautiful!
I also know I love hearing peoples general art goals, so mine are to be weirder! I want to be less uptight, and try to let go of whats 'correct'. I really love seeing wobbly ugly art, with wild colours in weird materials.
I hope this year brings you all good things!
