A.I. Poll (Patreon)

Hey guys,

So. . . the art elephant in the room:

Are you cool with the use of A.I. artwork in featured captions and stories? Or would you prefer we go without?

For more context. . .

A.I. art has been running rampant online, particularly in places that cater to fetish niches. ( I'm looking at you, DeviantArt). It's hard to avoid it at this point, which has forced the issue for many creators, myself included. 

To be transparent, I dabbled in AI art generation while taking my mental health break a few weeks ago. The results were mixed but a few gems emerged from the pile of artwork, leading me to see the appeal of the practice: 

It's inexpensive, can meet the specific preferences of the creator (me), and is faster than commissioned digital art without the hassle of awkward email/DM correspondence. In addition, the quality is consistently quite high, even when generating images that compliment the stories we like to consume—so, like, curvy, yuri stories.  

In the most recent Quickie, I did made use of AI generated artwork, and I think the final product turned out fine.

However, as a creator myself (and a doodler by hobby) I hate how A.I. artwork has robbed the attention—and sometimes the paycheck—from digital artists. I'm a fan of supporting creators financially for their work and have done so with the money I've received from all your support.

To know that some creators (especially smaller, newer ones) might take a hit because of the imminence of AI is frustrating. Even established creators seem to be iffy about the stuff. 

It's a whole conundrum we're dealing with.

Are you fine with engaging with AI Generated images in the context of stories and captions I create? Or would you prefer we go without them? Maybe we blend the two: support digital artists sometimes and use AI art sometimes, since AI isn't yet at the point of creating more stylized pieces and sequences (at least, not in my experience).

And in addition to this poll, I'll continue sampling your opinions on the topic as the landscape continues to change. It's only a matter of time until AI generated expansion stories start coming out, at which point we'll be in some DIRE straits.
