Okay, answer to a question you posed: even if she’s not in the “present day” timeline (because we saw that in present day, she told him he might die and nothing happened) and yelling out future events to freeze time works, I think it might be a deliberate writing choice to not break the tension of the really serious moments (ex. the kidnapping) with a kind of silly gimmick? Using that trick to get around and out of relatively low-stakes comedic moments is totally valid, though!
