Beta Build (Episode 1) - When Stars Collide (Patreon)

Hello my lovely Black Tea members! Below you can find the link to access the Patreon beta build for When Stars Collide.

This build is only available to the Black Tea tier of Patreon. No one else has access to this link.

And now here is some info you need about this build. Please be sure to read this because it will save you and me time.

Do not use existing saves.

Renpy will always show old save data no matter how old (when I tested the build on an old laptop, Renpy was happily pulling up old save data from 2021). Just because it is showing a save as existing, does not mean that save will work.

In fact, Old Saves Will Definitely Not Work. 

This game has a ton of content that did not exist in the old demo so if you load an old demo save Renpy is going to say "Wow, you want me to call up all this random stuff that doesn't exist!" and then it's going to crash.

So do not do that.

Any old saves from the demo are a lie. 🎂

If you want to empty out your old saves, you can hover over them and hit "Delete" which will give you the option to delete the save and clear out your save screen.

Reporting Errors

Please be aware that the beta build may still have typos and bugs. If you want to report an issue, do not post it here.

To post typos and bugs, please adhere to the following steps:

1. Read this document.

How to Give Feedback

This document explains what type of errors to report (and not report), as well as information needed if you find an issue with, say, the flowchart.

As the document says, when it comes to stuff like story, or plot, or artwork quality or things like not feeling X character got as much screen time - I am not looking for feedback on that stuff because I am beyond the point of being able to make major changes to any of it right now.

Remember. The game is fully drafted and edited - it's just not fully coded. This limits the big story/plot/content related edits I can make. That stuff snowballs really fast in branching storylines.

2. Use the following spreadsheet and google doc to post any bugs.

There are existing examples and instructions of how to post.

Keeping all the bug reports to one place (google docs) rather than spread out across Patreon or discord or DMs...is essential to me being able to wisely manage my time to fix things. And just remembering what stuff needs to be fixed.

Beta Information

(please note that there is no additional content in the script files - no scenes, no variables, nothing. There are no character sprites for unintroduced characters or CGs for later chapters. Nothing like that is in this build.

So no code-diving for spoilers or additional content.  🤣🤣)
