21/8 Devlog (Patreon)

Hey Everyone!
Here is this week's full devlog. Sorry for the delay - as some of you know, we've been in the process of moving for a couple of weeks and this weekend was the big "MOVE ALL THE STUFF" thing. It's been utterly exhausting.
We're in the new house now - just have to finish unpacking and do some cleaning up at the old place. But I hope to have some time to sit down and write a proper update.
Writing:
As I mentioned previously, I was able to do some writing this week and was able to get about 10,000 words written on Caissa's route.
The bulk of this is in chapter one but there are some scattered scenes from throughout his route. I don't really write out of order per se…
Not heavily. But sometimes I do get bits of dialogue or really clear images from scenes I want to have happen later in the route and I often write those down to keep from forgetting them. Of course, I don't actually always get to use these scenes.
Sometimes the route flows a different way and I find I can't use content I created or planned out.
So we'll see if some of those later scenes still get used.
As I also mentioned in the partial update, I started having issues with my hand hurting earlier in the week. Drawing was basically out of the question but even typing for long periods of time was painful so I didn't actually do too much of it in general because I was trying to give my hand a chance to heal up.
Art:
So I was just taking a break and getting my head out of Gilded Shadows for a while and worked on the sprite of the MC for my little side project.
It was this that left my hand really hurting for days on end - which...it's actually still not completely better.
After that I really didn't work on any artwork as it not only hurt to grip things but I also wanted to give it a chance to recover.
So all in all...not much art this week. ;A;
Upcoming Week:
Overall I said I wanted to do a proper update for you guys this week but it's still going to be a short one. I didn't get a ton of work done because we were busy moving and I had to spend a lot of time packing and doing move-y stuff.
And then the hand issue.
The hand a lot better - probably 95% better. But I still have some pain when I grip things (such as a tablet pen). Given that it has recovered a lot, I suspect it'll be back to normal within a couple of days and I'll start working on Kickstarter art again.
In the meantime I'll probably work on trying to get more of Caissa's route written since I can type without pain again.
All in all, a distressingly non-productive week.
But at least I did still get some stuff done and will continue to get even more done in the upcoming weeks. Hopefully I'll be back to working on the special wallpapers very soon!
Lance is up next.
At any rate, I'm super, super exhausted - it's been a crazy and long weekend so I'll be heading off for now and I shall see you guys soon.
