Hi Guys!

Sorry the update is coming later in the day - I had a busy morning and afternoon so I'm just now getting the chance to sit down and work on this.

Writing:

I've been working on Caleb's route and have the potato draft of chapter three done. I really wanted to do more but have actually been feeling kind of bad this past week with off and on sinus pressure. Seasons are changing here and it's really throwing me off.

After feeling like someone was stepping on my face for three days this week, it was a relief to not have the sinus pressure yesterday…

Only for it to return today.

Fun times. ;~;

I've managed to write a chapter, which is good. LoL. 

Not as much as I was hoping, though.

There's also been a lot of project management happening this week, as multiple freelancers have been in touch to give status reports or hand over finished stuff. That always takes time away from writing as I have to do a back and forth with them on things and make executive decisions on stuff.

(Some of that is exciting in and of itself, but it still takes time from writing.)

Regardless, Chapter three is nearly done and I suspect I'll get started on Chapter four before the weekend is out.

Chapter Four is when we move past Morgan figuring out where she is, getting exposition, adjusting to her situation….and start setting up the actual route plot. I'm looking forward to it!

Art:

This week we received all the final backgrounds for the interior of Lance's house as well as one additional BG for New Terra. 

And our New Terra backgrounds:

A conference room from the upper levels of the station.

And some sleeping quarters from a lower part of the station.

For our backgrounds...

One group is starting to work on some of the backgrounds for Pythia and Cestrescir, one artist has been working on a BG for Caissa's house for a while (she's a bit slower than some of the other artists) and another has started a third background for New Terra.

So backgrounds are chugging along.

Music:

We received two new tracks from our composer, Tobi. I really like them both and remain really excited about our sound track!

We are getting tracks to represent each major location in the game (Day side of the planet, Night side of the planet, New Terra, and Twilight Wastes.)

Tobi has a slightly different process than other composers we've worked with in the past. He creates WIPS of each track, saving final polishing to be done all at once.

Unfortunately, this means that as much as I want to put his music into the demo update we'll be doing soon...I really can't. None of it is going to be fully polished anytime soon.

I've been holding off updating for that reason but I think that, unfortunately, I'm going to have to just stick with using placeholder music in the demo or push off the update until the music is composed.

The main reason I'd rather not continue using placeholder music is largely because that means we'll have to do another demo update just to get the real music in at some point. And I don't really want to do that.

I also don't want the demo to have different music than the game.

So I think I'll be waiting to update the demo until our music is complete. That's the gist of what I'm saying LoL

Upcoming Weeks:

Over the weekend I very much intend to just write myself into a stupor. 

I'll be finishing editing Chapter Three and getting started on chapter four. I hope to have the potato draft of four done by Sunday night. But we'll see! 

Sometimes I can actually get an entire potato draft done in a day. It's just....the editing it up to a reasonable rough draft that takes time! LoL

I'm hoping the upcoming week will also see the addition of a couple of new music tracks, some new BGs sketches and hopefully one additional finished BG from Caissa's mansion.

Unfortunately the music and art are outside my control so we'll have to wait and see on those! 

I'm going to be doing an upcoming post about beta testing and scheduling and I hope you guys will share your thoughts - I've talked a little about this on our server but will also post here to get thoughts from patrons.
