Hi everyone!

Time for this week's (somewhat boring) devlog.

It's one of those weeks where not much happened. Not that there wasn't work that was done...Just that the work is me writing and that's it (see below).

LoL

Summary:

  • Completed through Maggie Chapter Four
  • ??? LoL That's it.

The Ramble:

Yup. I wrote a lot. The end.

There are two BG artists still completing BGs for us. These guys are working on about a two week rotation per BG (one week for the sketch, one week for the render). So I expect will be kind of having these gaps in BG art going forward until I get the remaining ones.

As far as writing, I completed two chapters this week and completed through chapter four and into chapter five.

Maggie's route is quite different from the other Endgame routes and I keep having moments of paranoia that it's boring or flowing weirdly. Of course, I can correct some of that during the edit, but sometimes it makes it difficult to stay focused on forward progress. Nevertheless, I am making forward progress.

In the recent chapters I've been focusing on laying the groundwork for the eventual conflict. In this route, the problems with the council at Endgame take the forefront of the plot. To achieve this, I extended Morgan's initial power surge and made her recovery time longer so the council begins to get antsy about her "progress."

Morgan also has more time to contemplate her dissatisfaction with things like the communication blackout with her family and creates a bigger fuss about it than she does in other routes where she jumps straight into training and doesn't have as much free time to focus on it. This makes her relationship with the council far more contentious and begins to highlight their selfish motivations and actions to a higher degree than other routes.

The early chapters are all setting up for a moment in which the council crosses the line in a way that traumatises Morgan (though that will be in a later chapter.)

We see Vanessa's sister "Lethe" for the first time in this route, I think. She may briefly appear in Ari's route (I don't really remember) but she plays a much bigger role in Maggie's route.

Magnus and Morgan are already having some funny moments together because she's mostly immune to his attempts at trolling now that she's kind of gotten used to him. Which makes for some funny interactions as he trolls her and she trolls him back.

I am essentially ¾ of the way through my original six routes, which is a nice number to have under my belt.

I'm really hoping to be at least half finished with Magnus' route by the end of the month. I thought I might not make it because we were planning a little vacation for ourselves but with a new outbreak in my state, and areas going back on lockdown, that is unlikely to happen.

So I may end up with more time to write than I originally planned.

Aside from that, there really isn't much to discuss. This was a writing focused week and I didn't do much *but* write.

I did a little CG work - mostly gathering references and working with some 3D models to plan composition for some of Caissa's CGs.

I did work a little on sprucing up the results to the Love interest Survey I did recently.

I wrote my original results report before I closed responses. I updated the results with the new responses - though the numbers didn't shift around that much - and added a few points of comparison in there.

You can check that out if you're interested.

Sneak Peeks and Previews:

None.

Upcoming Week:

This week I want to finish chapters five and six if possible. That is a pretty aggressive plan given there is a holiday coming up. But I'm going to try my best >=o

And that's really it. I have no other specific plans.

Writing purgatory continues...
