Hi everyone! Posting at the normal time this week! LoL!
This Week's Summary:
- Finished 2 CGs
- Nearly finished Ian's sprite
- Started a new CG
- Editing Yuu's outline
The Ramble:
Hey everyone! Let us jump into this week's ramble.
This week I focused on art. Last week I said I thought I'd focus on getting the sprites done.......I did not do that. 🤣
I have largely continued to procrastinate on them while focusing on CGs instead. LoL
I did start and nearly complete Ian's sprite. I just have to do his facial expressions and get his coding done. He only appears in one scene so I could probably get away with doing limited expressions for him but eh. I'm sure he'll get the full roster of them.
I also finished two CG sets - one CG with a little more complicated BG elements than I usually do. And one 2-part CG.
The two part CG is the "first kiss" CG - in order to make sure all characters feel balanced, everyone gets at least 2 parts to the first kiss (or, in Caleb's case, two kiss variations). In some cases (like Jack) I reused most of the Image and only had to make changes to the face area for the kiss. In some instances, I kept some parts of the original (like Ari's kiss CGs) and changed a bit more. And in some cases I had to entirely redraw the poses (Caleb).
Quill's kind of falls in the middle. I had to redraw most of the image and really only kept one of Quill's shoulder in the original position. So the kiss CG was more like drawing two distinct CGs since it required a lot of repositioning and redrawing.
The CG I'm working on now is also a two parter (but this one really just has a minor pose change).
I have 5.5 of Quill's 8 CGs complete.
I am doing my best to not overwork my hand, so that means not just powering through the art at the expense of my well-being.
When taking breaks from art, I've been editing Reuben and Yuu's synopses and first chapters. It just gives me a bit of a head start on their routes since I'd need to do this editing anyway.
That's really about it - drawing, coding, and editing.
Quill's route is nearly complete. It's about 85% of the way there and the biggest remaining chunk of work at this point is actually the testing. I don't have an ETA on when we'll start doing that, but it'll be in the next few weeks. Whenever the art is done.
Sneak Peeks:
Upcoming Week:
Finishing the art. I'm hoping I can get it all done in the next week but, again...pacing myself. So we'll see.
I imagine the art will be done within the next two weeks either way. And then it'll be time to beta test! (Quill's route will skip alpha testing and go straight into beta testing)
That is all for this update! See you next time!
