Veleians, despite their technological advancements, remain a highly spiritual people.

Their belief is that we came from the stars, that they stars fuel our lives, that we consume them and thrive off them. And that, therefore, it's inherent the stars define our destinies to some degree.

Belief in the astrology has waned in Veleian culture but some still adhere to it to at least some degree.

I don't remember the reason I created the Veleian zodiac - I think it was just because I couldn't logically define birthday for characters not born on Earth so I wanted to do something else birthday related instead.

Initially I wasn't going to define more than the signs but eventually I sat down and defined an entire zodiac complete with the shapes of the constellations. I'll post them bit by bit going forward! 

The Veleian language these are defined in is Menti, which is used more on the homeworld and by certain factions.

(MC speaks Menti but usually uses Eswonian. There are several other Veleian languages that pop up in the game too because...why not?)

The translations of the signs are very...loose. Since obviously there are no cranes, wolves, and gazelles on Veleia. It's more that the animals in the zodiac are similar to those Earth animals so they function as a stand in for whatever animal it really is.

For each sign, there is a proper name (like Ha'glef), then the actual sign (the wolf). You can think of it as analogous to "Libra, the water bearer".

The zodiac doesn't come up in the game - it's just something I came up with fun, really.
