I will assume that everyone here or most of you have watched this show, of course, I am the odd one out lol... I swear it's not on purpose, but I am lackin' so I hear. Do you guys love the show? I don't think I've seen many fantasy shows/movies, like I also never watched LOTR. :/

Just wondering opinions!

Yes the original 🔥 the ending? Questionable lol

lilli

imo one of the best shows of all time you’re missing out

Alyson

I liked it. And contrary to a lot of people, I actually liked the ending!! It is a big commitment of a show though!!

Frankie

You’re joking right, GAME OF THRONES is THE SHOW! Bro you gotta watch at some point

Mary

It's one of the best show out there....

Ericka

It is interesting. Definitely scandalous. I lost interest over time because of the pacing of the show. There would be long periods of nothing between the epic scenes. But, if you decide to go for it, I will give it another shot with you.

Jess

I feel like it was just as popular as the walking dead; majority of the US population watched both shows

Sham Sham

Never watched it either 😂

Julie S.

Yes! One of the best shows ever made. The cinematography is CRAZY! And I loved how every story line of each character fit together so perfect even if they never even met in the show. It was brilliant

a2r

bruh I keep hearing! The Boys came back S4 today and was talking to a homie and he mentioned Game of Thrones to me again and is still cookin me

Sarah Gonzalez

Awesome show overall! 9.8 out of 10 rating

Frankie

It’s so good , yes a lot of dialogue but the story and fights are insane. And yes if people around lmao headphones are a must 😂

Kevin Ma

It’s good but nothing to write home about imo especially that rushed ass ending

Ericka

The last episode I remember is Season 3 episode 10

Casey

I would love to watch you react to LOTR! Those movies changed my life and I fully believe the extended editions are a must watch. I thought Game of Thrones was okay. Not my personal favorite but my brother and best friend were obsessed with it.

Jess

It's okay. I've only played the game for TWD 😂 I will say that the first GoT season is on the slower side cause they introduce the different houses and their dynamics but every GoT season usually takes off around the 7th episode

lau

hell yes

mssmercedes

Yes, it truly is. There are varying opinions on the quality towards the end but even considering that it is still one of the greatest pieces of television of all time. Seeing you react to it especially if you really don't know some of the crazy stuff that happens would be absolutely epic

jam

OMG if you watch this i would tune in without fail, i love watching people watch this for the first time 😭 i heard of the show by its 2nd season and actually delved into it by 3rd or 4th season as it was airing.. crazy ass journey i rewatched every season leading up to the new season every year till it finished skkdksksks so will def rewatch w u🥳

jam

piggybacking off this, same! i also thought the ending made sense but everyone was so angry about it at the time, i just stayed apart of the silent minority lol!!

Alyson

I also thought that the ending made the most sense out of all the possible outcomes!!

Daniela V.

It's not so much that the ending didn't make sense but a lot of people felt it was rushed. Like if they had built it up more over the years I think it would've been better

KaraOni

oh boy, im a big enjoyer and LONG TIME watcher and consumer of the western fantasy genre from movies to books to video games to board games to even going to the renaissance faire. And i EXTREMELY recommend BEFORE watching GoT you watch The Hobbit movies then LOTR cause the author JRR Tolkien is the person that eventually became the “Godfather of the Fantasy Genre” quite literally. So it’ll set the tone of how the fantasy genre was born in the west by him during the late 1930s to the mid 1950s after getting out of WW1. The Hobbit films extended edition are what i recommend first so you have a easy starting point (also the first in the timeline) and gradually increase in movie quality up until the final movie of LOTR extended edition, they are lengthy so splitting each video is okay, ALOT of reactors (both first timers and rewatchers) do it. The Hobbit and Lotr are very akin to the feathery warmth of Studio Ghibli movies but now they hold the western fantasy of “life or death quests, powerful magic, horrifying creatures, large amounts of fantasy species, majestic castles, large scale battles, and great kings and their bloodlines”. GoT is George RR Martin’s take of Tolkien’s Fantasy, Martin absolutely despises Fantasy stories that turn Tolkien’s Fantasy into a cheap cliche of the Genre. Martin’s dedication to Fantasy turns it into a world were magic and magical creatures are rarer to the common people and become more hearsay than fact, due to the Gossip, Betrayal, and subsequent Short Lifespan of the big figures such as the Rulers, Powerful and/or Corrupt Nobleman, and the most conniving of warriors both on the battlefield and off. I recommend watching GoT with a grain of salt due to the after the 5 season was when the show caught up to the books, and the showrunners arent GRRM—and can never write as convoluted storylines and plot points as GRRM can in their wildest dreams so it fell flat at the end. But the Spectacle of the show is definitely very crude, bloody, but showcasing a more human characteristics such as disgusting flaws as opposed to Tolkien’s characters having a sense of “there is hope and goodwill in the world, but i can succumb to selfish desires if i am unable to reaffirm my personal boundaries constantly”. GRRM’s characters are like “my flaws -disgusting as they may be- make me feel real to the viewer because anybody can die in this story including the characters you believe to be the protagonists”

Alyson

I'd have to watch it again, but I don't remember thinking that at all. Maybe 1 or two more episodes could have been nice, but I don't think it really needed a bigger ending.

Daniela V.

OH HO HOOO! I would die for a reaction to GoT. It's a rollercoaster of emotions and for the most part it's amazing. Like a lot of people have said the ending is questionable but I also haven't gone back to watch it all so maybe watching it as a finished piece makes more sense. Definitely think you'd get a lot of people watching! Just gotta warn you though there's a LOT of violence, nudity, gore, sexual violence etc. It's not an easy watch for everyone

Alyson

Plus they left it open, so they could always continue the story if they wanted to, which I think is cool

Taisha Caldwell

Personally, I really enjoyed it, though I never got to finish it. I heard all the commotion about how it all ended and it made me a little nervous to try to get to the conclusion, but either way, it wouldn't take away from what the experience as a whole has provided me with thus far. I got my mom invested in it not long after I did and I held off all this time on going forward and finishing it because I didn't want to leave her behind and needed someone to talk about it all with, but unfortunately she passed suddenly back in April and I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that I'll have to finish it on my own regardless. All of the content creators I'd watched up to the point of the series I was at can be resumed then, but I think if you started, I'd definitely probably be following through with you to see your take on everything. Also a huge LOTR/Hobbit fan and would support you through those as well! 💜

Tasia

For me not sure, my dad and friends watch it and really like it. I just can't get into it.

skye

omg yes!! i mean, i’m only on s2 but i think the world building + characters are interesting so i’d definitely recommend it. i have heard of the controversial ending (idk exactly how it ends, but more like i just know people hated the direction the last 1-2 seasons went) but tbh, i know the first few seasons are well loved, if anything, so i think it’s worth a try! :’) oh! if we’re gonna talk about US shows, i’m curious if you have seen “the boys”? since s4 is currently airing, i’m hyper fixating on it again bc i loved this show to the point where i binged the first three seasons when i started watching it 😭

skye

i started watching it before my brother and his gf but then they also started it not long after and have binged through all of it while i’m still stuck on s2 😭😂 and it wasn’t bc of the show itself bc i actually loved the show from where i left off but, when it comes to long shows, i love them but i can get distracted easily and that was really the only reason why it’s on pause, though i do plan to pick it back up at some point! 😭 and i’m sorry to hear about your mom! :( but it was nice that you were able to have something to bond with at the time.

Taisha Caldwell

Oh nooooo! That's so funny though, because I'm kind of the same way with longer shows. 😂😂 I really enjoy what I get to watch, but depending on where I am in my life, it becomes harder to stay consistent with them and eventually they just get put on pause for an unnatural amount of time, if not forever. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Typically, I'm just not great at dividing my time up from day to day and finding balance for the things that I enjoy. At the time we were watching GoT I'm pretty sure I was in college as an art major, so it was all or nothing with my time as far as classes went. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Sounds like this may be a great time/opportunity for the both of us to pick back up though. 😊 Thank you though. It's definitely been an adjustment, but you're right. She was my best friend and we actually really enjoyed a lot of the same things. I got her into BTS back in 2019 and she was such a diehard. So we shared a love for KPop and she smoked me as far as Kdramas, but I now have so many recommendations from her specifically that I have to check out. The way I move through dramas at the moment, it may take me a lifetime. 😅🫠

tada dadam

there was a time (recently) when i had to be at home for some time, so i had nothing to do and watched all seasons😂 i went completely blind, i knew nothing about the plot and really enjoyed the show😌

skye

agreed!! i have too many interests and, add in my personal life, i can never balance what i love doing in my free time bc my mood is always all over the place lol. and yeah, the shows i have on hold (and there are quite a bunch atp) aren’t on hold forever bc i still wanna pick them back up eventually, it’s just a matter of when i’m feeling up to it! 😩 for me, i love a lot of things from kpop to tv/movies to anime to kdramas to reading and so on, it can get overwhelming with having so many things to watch/read but, at the same time, i’m also glad i have a lot to choose from and at least we’ll never run out of things to watch! 😂

Jupiter

Nah I wasn't too into it my mom and aunts were but it wasn't for me like some of the other comments said maybe watch a movie (hobbit) that is similar to see if you would like it before jumping deep into a long show.

Taisha Caldwell

That's the truth if I've ever heard it! We'll certainly never run out of content, but every day there's totally a big chance for something to be added to the list. 😂 Overwhelming is a great way to describe it. Just make sure to enjoy what you can while you can to the fullest. Between working and my little one, until maybe last month, I'd really just put all of my hobbies to the side and neglected them. I've been casually picking up the switch every now and then or turning on some reaction videos to enjoy and realizing how important even just 30 minutes of entertainment can be to my mental state from time to time.

skye

to me, that’s the best thing about having a hobby/hobbies! in the case of work or school or whatever else you’re busy with in life, your hobbies will never go away and will always be there waiting for you during your free time and it’s just the best way to relax imo but oh i agree!! i don’t think it matters the length, even just taking a lil bit of time to yourself and enjoying what you love in your free time (no matter what it is) is very important! :)

h

i binged watched the entire show a week before the final ep aired & while i really enjoyed it, the ending was not worth losing sleep lol.

ilays

i’m sorry for your loss, i almost lost my mom last year and it was the scariest moment of my life. I can’t imagine how difficult her loss must’ve been for you. People say time heals everything which isn’t really true, but as time goes on, it does become easier to remember the positive memories in association.

aurora

its worth watching if you enjoy fantasy i think its not perfect but it has some amazing moments

a2r

Haha that sounds like something I’d do, but idk about doing it with live action shows that’s a lotta hours! 😭 dang a lot of yall mention the ending I wonder if it just wasn’t well adapted from the book series?? Idk did they freestyle the ending of tv only?

h

only did it cause my best friends obsessed with the series so she convinced me 😭 bro the book series wasn’t even finished yet!!! the directors rushed ending cause they low-key wanted to drops the series. & the ending was lazy af, completely threw away a lot of the incredible character development & made some crappy visual decisions imo. if this was a show i had watched from the beginning i would’ve been even mad lol.

mssmercedes

The issue is the book series is not finished. The last novel was released in 2011 and there are supposed to be two more novels to finish off the series but the author has not finished it for a variety of reasons. Also he's not a young guy so many fans don't actually think the series will be finished in his lifetime unfortunately He gave the show creators a rough outline of how things end but these books are extremely detailed and the plot is quite complicated so I just don't think it works without them having the source material. Also yes they did kind of Rush the ending because the showrunners supposedly wanted to move on to another project and so the last two seasons are shorter than the seasons that preceded it so there are some things that probably would have worked if they had the time to explore and prep the audience for it. I'm an avid fan of the books so I really do hope they actually come out even though we sort of know how it ends I think the full story will still be amazing. And also I'm one of the people where the journey was so good the end didn't ruin it for me TBH. I'm also watching the spin-off a house of dragons. It's not as good as game of thrones but it has enough of the elements to keep me watching.

Honey

Yes because I binged it right before the last season started but for those that were there from the beginning and waited damn near a decade for it to wrap up...for THAT ending.......damn lol

Taisha Caldwell

Skye, that's a wonderful outlook you have and I hope that continues throughout the rest of time. You seem like a very positive soul and I love that. 🥰💜

Taisha Caldwell

Thank you for these words of comfort. That is what they say, that time heals all wounds, but depending on the type of wound, there's potential for a life long scar to be left in it's place. I guess that's kind of how I see it. Everything is a spectrum, never just black and white for me. I love how you didn't say that it would eventually get easier as a whole, but that the cherished memories we were lucky enough to make will have an easier time surfacing as I continue on doing the things we loved. I'm so glad your mom was able to make it back to you for hopefully many more years to come. Near death experiences are so crazy, but it definitely can put a lot of things into perspective for the person and most certainly everyone around them. I know you're cherishing her presence all the more now and that's a beautiful thing.
