In terms of vocals taeyeon was always the best and Jessica 2nd best they were an amazing duo known for their harmonies on all snsd songs Popularity wise taeyeon and yoona are the most popular in the group flip flopping between the number one and two spot but Jessica was the most popular after them When Jessica left the group taeyeon most definitely did not become more popular it was actually the opposite people hated on her so much (2014 was just a terrible year for her she got a lot of unprecedented hate from the public from a dating scandal and departure of Jessica) her solo debut is what made her popularity skyrocket and fall into the good graces of the public again

Yeah all the girls were blamed but taeyeon got most of the backlash because she’s the leader and people thought they had beef Jessica leaving the group is still one of the biggest mysteries in kpop to this day the girls are not allowed to talk about her at all and Jessica can’t freely say what she wants about the situation because of the NDA’s they all signed all we know is Jessica was kicked out of the group by SM
