I think it's because they will eventually remaster all the post time skip arcs. Post time skip especially has a bad rep for having terrible pacing. Just starting with fishman island.

guys it’s a cool animation remake of the arc. it’s not perfect. it’s still really cool to get and yes some stuff is cut but let’s celebrate that toei acknowledged the poor pacing of the arc openly and now we have a version for more casual one piece fans to enjoy. people like moistcritical often stop at fishman island because it’s so slow. i’d much rather have this version be quicker so more fans stick with the show

I think for a remake it’s fine if it’s rush and skips pages. We’ve already seen and and just want to watch it for the animation. Now for first time watcher who chooses to watch this over the original is when I’ll get mad and give my two scent. But to pass the time I don’t see why everyone is acting up.

This really just goes to show Toei can’t ever do pacing right. The Wit remake is OP anime fans last hope, and regardless highly doubt it’ll cover anything past pre timeskip when it’s all said & done.

bro ur forgetting that the time we get to something as late as ennies lobby in the wit adaptation one piece already would be completed and any normal adaptation covers 3-4 chapters every episode one piece would end up only about 300 episodes as a whole it's very reasonable

That wasn’t even 100 episodes, it was less than 60 and unlike the live action there is much more effort put into an animation series that even the author involved won’t make a difference unless it was a more qualified studio that handles long running seasonals.

My issue isn't necessarily that it is going too fast but they just cut out important context scenes, like usopp appears and already in the cut fake nami is threatening nami . A lot of other important context scenes were cut and the transitions from scene to scene felt so sudden like this episode really felt like an amateur cut of the original.

There were a lot of sharp cuts made but this was still wavy. I just use my imagination or reference to the OG to fill in the gaps. I hope this turns out well, but I already appreciate the effort on Toei's part to give us something while they shuffle around their resources and buy some distance from the manga.

Yeah its not just a few eps, everything up to the late 300s is missing. Not only that, but randomly a LOT but not all of the pre-400 videos specifically are in a whole different tier then the later and current episodes? I feel bad for anyone that paid extra for no reason since all those eps are the broken ones.
