Big Fuzzbutts Concept Dump (Patreon)

a buncha character concepts i've been fiddling with, thought y'all might like a peek

1.) My first crack at a Fuzzbutts version of Rosemary, Ruby. She would've been a very edgy, punk rock lady, very stubborn and utterly opposed to stifling her nature just to make herbivores comfortable. I still like this design, and might use it somewhere else. But I felt Ruby wasn't really what I was going for, so she ended up getting reworked into Savannah, who y'all have already met.  Savannah still has many frustrations as a carnivore (especially as a scavenger, who are unfairly maligned as sneaky dirty bringers of death and disease) and vents through her music.

2.) Irie becomes Isla (pronounced eye-la), a giant monitor lizard. This design is very much a work in progress, I'm not sure if I want her to be this colorful (I think sometimes it really shows I've spent years drawing/designing candy-colored horses). Anyway, Isla can "smell" her clients' emotions, her snek tongue can detect the various pheromone changes/chemical signatures her clients exude. She uses this power to help people process their feelings- or sometimes, just freak people out.

3.) People always ask me to draw my old "genderbent" versions of Pandora and Cupcake, Paradox and Beefcake. I haven't, because I feel like the pandoraverse is already complicated enough without different versions of characters running around. But in Fuzzbutts, I can just make them different characters entirely, yay! Perry is a perky chatterbox, contrasting Tibbs, who is a boar of few words. Perry and Thibodeaux (pronounced tibb-oh-doh) run a B&B that sometimes steals business from Penny ("Why book a room at a smelly old boarding house when you could spend your vacation in cozy luxury?"). As such, Perry and Penny are often at each others' throats. Tibbs and Cupcake get along just fine.

Perry and Thibodeaux are happily married, and strong, strong advocates for de-stigmatizing predator/prey relationships. 

4.) Midnight Abyss! In Fuzzbutts, she goes by Minerva. I was initially aiming for a small cute animal to contrast Minnie's gloomy goth personality, I thought it'd be kinda funny if she figured herself to be this tough dangerous beast, when really she was just a chubby hedgehog who could be scooped up quite easily, even when rolled into a ball. Buuut ultimately hedgehog just wasn't working.

So now I'm considering porcupine. Although usually Min's pretty chill, when threatened she'll bristle and rattle her quills so they make a hissing sound. Minnie is a herbivore that eats a whole lot of twigs and tree bark, and sometimes unthinkingly eats the pencils she uses to take bakery orders. Although she rarely smiles and can be prickly to strangers, deep down Minnie is quite sweet. She shares Midnight's fascination with the occult and claims to be capable of witchcraft.
