Odd and Finn, Friends to the End (Patreon)

Oddball and Finn finally get the Fuzzbutts treatment!

Odd (his real name is Octavius, but that’s too stuffy even for him) is a giant binturong, or bearcat. He is currently a dual sociology/anthropology student working on his Master’s thesis on the intersection between animal biology and cultures both emergent and ancient. All that wordsalad just means Odd likes studying people. Very closely.  How they think, how they behave, what they ascribe meaning to, etc. Odd is still learning that most people feel kinda uneasy being stared at by a giant meat-eating bear-noodle-thing, especially if he also appears to be taking detailed notes on them.

One such person more than okay with Odd‘s observation is Finn, a sailfin lizard (or water dragon, as he likes to say). Finn is a locally popular surfer-slash-guitarist with a head full of ADHD and mush. Well-meaning, but wildly impulsive mush- dumb reptile is dumb. Best friends with Odd since childhood, it was he who bestowed his bestie his nickname. The two are still best friends, but they are also boyfriends/roommates, after Finn spent years shamelessly flirting with a mostly(?) oblivious Odd. Finn understands a solid 30% of the academic jargon that comes out of Odd‘s mouth, but loves to listen to him talk anyway. Odd in turn can spend hours quietly listening to Finn’s various semi-unhinged ramblings and rants. They make a good pair, or so Finn says. Odd isn’t entirely sure Finn doesn’t keep him around just for his toasty fur and mammalian body heat.

I’m still working out how they tie into/relate to other characters.
