It would actually be nice, and quite the subversion, for what Fry said above to happen: Alice gets used up and discarded, James moves on to actually find love and happiness. I know that is not this genre, but why not just once? Regardless, the dev does spectacular work!

I love this discussion of what she gets from each side of her love life, and toying with him that he better give her a reason to keep him around. If he wasn't so drunk, he'd probably have an easier time explaining his strengths. I still hope one of them is his tongue, but obviously love and affection are the main ones. He can't. He's not able to make a "negotiation" 'cause he never grew up EMOTIONALLY. He's still the naive boy who fell in love with young Melody and the break up of their marriage has stopped his "maturation" as adult person. He's a boy in a mature man's body. A submissive man would accept the situation and he'd make some sort of "negotiation" according to his "level" of submission; a sober not submissive man would have hit in the face the two Black Studs at breakfast in hotel dining room and kicked in the ass Alice & Melody, but he's only a boy never grew up EMOTIONALLY.
