Shay had renounced the lifestyle that went with being part of a mega-rich family. The country clubs and golf courses—more so the people who frequented them—didn’t appeal to her.

But she hadn’t renounced her trust fund. And her father’s love was unyielding, so he supported her departure from the society scene.

“Honey, if you want to work in soup kitchens or lay on every beach in the world, do it. I want you to be happy and feel like you are contributing whatever you want to contribute.”

Shay had spent some time on plenty of beaches. Not too much in soup kitchens, but…

That morning, she had heard about the James King Beach Music Festival in Miami Beach, Florida to benefit Humanitarian Housing. It sounded like a good lineup, but…

The idea of helping Humanitarian Housing really appealed to her. She’d done some volunteer work, but if she were honest, she had lain on a lot more beaches and danced in a lot more clubs. She thought it was a good time to give back to others, and the festival and the events before it were a great opportunity.

She thought it would be a tough road trip on the little street bike she had with her—she had motorcycles stored all over the world ready for her to use—but she’d make it okay.

But, she’d have that lunch first.
