Hi everyone! Today I'm bringing up something that was mentioned in last month's Q&A. To start, some of you might know that I've acknowledged there already is a game I decided I'd be making after Our Life: Now & Forever. I call it "Project W" for the time being.
It's a game with Our Life levels of customization/choice freedom, plus no bad ends, but isn't in the Our Life series. It has nothing to do with growing from childhood to adulthood and such. That's about all I've said on it. However, it's something I've been workshopping since 2021 already. I put time into its planning frequently enough and players sometimes ask what will happen after OL2, so that I namedrop it every now and then. I'm very excited about the project personally and at this point others are getting interested as well.
Now, it's not anywhere near being put into production, but I am certain about what it will be like when it does. So, I was thinking that starting in January 2024 I could do one post per month here on Patreon where I share a little bit of general info about Project W. That would last for all of 2024 and in 2025 maybe the posts could begin having even more detailed info releases. It might be fun to get hints on the super-behind-the-curtains planning at GB Patch Games. However, if being drip fed bits of info for something that far out feels unnecessary, I'll wait until it's begun backburner levels of development to make posts dedicated to Project W.
Feel free to let me know what you think and you're welcome to leave comments if there are specific basic elements you'd want to hear about whenever info posts do begin popping up.
EDIT-
I appreciate people who are worried about my workload in terms of adding a new type of post! I didn't realize people would consider that. It's really thoughtful. So, I'll add that this wouldn't impact me negatively. I already spend the time writing stuff down for Project W, it's over 200,000 words of brainstorming at this point, aha. And the Patreon would still update at the normal rate, it'd just be one less OL2 post per month. So, all that matters is if you want to be let in on my planning already or not. It's purely a for-fun thing that I'd have no stress or issues doing.
