If you go back to August 2012 in my archives, you'll come across this drawing:

I think that piece served as inspiration for this new one, which I think is much improved.  And thanks Mad Man with a Pen for suggesting Power Girl!

I had a story in my head while drawing this piece.  I imagined Power Girl had gotten knocked out and captured somehow, kind of like in Supergirl #8 (2005) .  This issue has a great splash page with Power Girl in chains.  Supergirl, normally the younger more naive heroine, gets a chance to rescue Power Girl, carrying her away like an unconscious damsel.

On a technical note, for this piece I am trying a different line art technique.  I'm reducing the overall dimensions of the canvas, which makes for a smaller image file.  This however makes it easier to draw line art, producing what I think is a more solid result.  It's also quicker to finish.  Can't believe I hadn't tried this before.

Update May 5th: Added completed piece!

Looking great. Power girl is very underrated as a damsel in distress

Sleepy Comics

Power Girl is just too strong, so it's hard to find a scenario where she can be a damsel in distress.

I know, but the same applies to most superheroines

I would love to see a bit of a reverse: Power Girl carrying an unconscious Linda Danvers Supergirl

Mad Man with a Pen

Awesome! Happy my suggestion could help spark this revisit of an older PG/SG image you did :) It's coming along great and look forward to seeing the final product.

Turned out great SC! Love the sleeping expression on PG, and Supergirl holding her is great. Excellent work dude :)
