Sam's message popped up on the screen.

Sam: "Babe, you look amazing. But I can't see your face from this angle. Mind turning a bit so I can get a good look?"

Ana: Maybe another time.

Sam's response came in a few moments later.

Sam: "Alright, babe. I understand. Just promise you'll show me your face next time, okay? I wanna see that pretty smile."

Ana: Maybe, maybe not.

Sam's message appeared on the screen.

Sam: "Don't tease me like that, babe. I wanna see that beautiful face of yours. But if you want to keep me guessing, I guess I'll just have to imagine what you look like."

Ana: I guess you could do that. Just don't imagine me as a supermodel or something, okay?

Sam's reply came through a moment later.

Sam: "Don't sell yourself short, babe. I'm sure my imagination can't even come close to how gorgeous you are in real life."

Ana: Well, thanks for the compliment. When is your birthday though? I was just curious.

Sam's reply appears on the screen.

Sam: "My birthday is in August. Why do you ask?"

Ana: Curious.

Sam's message appears on the screen.

Sam: "Fair enough. Can I ask you something too?"

Ana: Yeah, sure.

Sam's message pops up on the screen.

Sam: "When's your birthday? I just realized I never asked before."

Ana: It's exactly two weeks away.

Sam's response comes through a moment later.

Sam: "Whoa, really? Why didn't you tell me sooner? We should definitely do something special for your birthday."

Ana: Nope, I don't like to waste money on my birthday. I would rather take it easy, enjoying music, movies, etc., while sleeping.

Sam's message appears on the screen.

Sam: "But babe, birthdays are a time to celebrate. And it's not a waste of money if it's for you. I wanna do something special for you, even if you just want to sleep all day."

Ana: You can give me a nice gift. That would do the trick, I guess.

Sam's response comes through a moment later.

Sam: "Alright, I'll start thinking about the perfect gift for you. And don't worry, it'll be something special that you'll love. You can count on that."

Ana: We will see.

Sam's message appears on the screen.

Sam: "Babe, I have a question. Do you have a bellybutton piercing?"

Ana: Nope, I haven't even gotten my ears or nose pierced yet. Belly button is quite far down my priority.

Sam's response comes through a moment later.

Sam: "Oh, really? I always thought you had a bellybutton ring for some reason. But no piercings at all? Not even your ears?"

Ana: Nope, I don't have money to waste on it right now.

Sam's message appears on the screen.

Sam: "No worries, babe. I totally get it. Money doesn't grow on trees, and you gotta prioritize what's important. Besides, you're gorgeous just the way you are. You don't need any piercings to look amazing."

Sam types out a message.

Sam: "Let's say, hypothetically, money wasn't a factor and you could get as many piercings as you wanted. What would you go for?"

Ana: Yeah, probably my ears and nose.

Sam's response comes through a moment later.

Sam: "Nice choices! I can totally imagine you with some cute stud earrings and a nose ring. You'd look even hotter than you already are, babe."

Sam types out another message.

Sam: "Listen, babe. If money really isn't an issue, how about this: I'll pay for your piercings - everything you want, no problem. And to sweeten the deal, you don't even have to pay me back that $800. As long as you get the piercings and send me some pics afterwards, consider us even."

Andrew, trying to escape the situation, replied with:

Ana: Well, I won't be able to buy jewelry for the piercing, so it would probably close.

Sam types out a message.

Sam: "Good point, babe. So here's the deal: I'll not only pay for your piercings, but I'll also get you the jewelry to match. You can pick out whatever you want. I just wanna see you looking absolutely stunning with all those piercings. I promise you won't regret it, babe."

Andrew thought about it for a bit. He thought the piercing could eventually close after some time and he wouldn't have to pay the $800. He also actually wanted an ear piercing, so he accepts the offer.

Sam's message appears on the screen.

Sam: "Awesome, babe! So we've got a deal then? You'll get the piercings you want, I'll pay for everything, and in return, you send me some pics of you looking like a total badass. Deal?"

Andrew types out a message.

Ana: "So, when should I go to the jeweler's for the piercings?"

Sam responded a few moments later.

Sam: "You can go today if you like. The sooner, the better, right?"

Andrew's search brought up a list of local jewelers near him. He saw that one of the stores seemed to be less popular than the others, based on the number of reviews and online presence.

As Andrew arrived at the less popular jeweler's, he felt a sense of relief. The store was small and sparsely populated, with just a few customers browsing the jewelry. He approached the counter, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement about his upcoming piercings.

The salesgirl behind the counter looked up as Andrew approached. She smiled at him and asked:

"Welcome to the store! How can I assist you today?"

Andrew hesitated for a moment before answering.

Andrew: "Hi, I'm looking to get some piercings done. Can you tell me what options you have available?"

The salesgirl nodded.

Salesgirl: "Sure, we offer a variety of piercings here. Do you have a specific piercing in mind, or are you open to some suggestions?"

Andrew thought for a moment before answering.

Andrew: "Well, I'm interested in getting my ears pierced, and I was thinking about a nose ring and a bellybutton ring as well."

The salesgirl raised her eyebrows, looking surprised by Andrew's choice of piercings.

Salesgirl: "Oh wow, you're going for the trifecta! That's quite a few piercings to get in one sitting."

Andrew typed out a message to Sam.

Ana: "Hey, Sam. Could you send the money directly to the jeweler's shop instead of sending it to me? I can give you the shop's details."

Sam's reply came through a moment later.

Sam: "Alright, sure thing. Just send me the shop's info, and I'll transfer the money directly to them. How much do you need for the piercings?"

Ana: Just send whatever you could afford. I will look for jewelry according to the budget.

Sam's message appeared on the screen.

Sam: "Got it, I'll send whatever I can afford. Just make sure to pick out some great jewelry once you're there. Can't wait to see how you look with all those new piercings, babe."

The shop owner approached Andrew and revealed the amount of money that Sam had sent.

The shop owner revealed the amount, which was roughly around $2000.

Shop Owner: "Looks like your friend sent you quite a generous amount. That should cover the cost of your piercings and some nice jewelry as well. Let's take a look at what we have in stock."

Andrew follows the shop owner to the bridal section of the store, feeling a bit taken aback by the selection in front of him.

Andrew: "Wait, why are we looking at bridal jewelry?"

The shop owner chuckled and replied:

Shop Owner: "Ah, you're right. We don't get many boys coming in here for nose rings and belly button rings. It's mostly girls looking for wedding jewelry and engagement rings. But we can definitely hook you up with some nice options that suit your style."

Andrew looks at the jewelry selection and realizes that all the pieces are designed with a feminine touch.

Andrew: "These are all pretty, but they seem too feminine for me. Do you have anything more masculine?"

The salesgirl overhears their conversation and chimes in:

Salesgirl: "Aw, don't worry about being too feminine. Lots of guys actually like it when their partners have a touch of femininity to their look. Your BF might appreciate seeing you in something a bit more delicate."

Andrew hesitates, thinking about Sam's taste.

Andrew: "I guess you have a point. Sam might like something more feminine..."

After some consideration, Andrew picks out a gold earring with a small diamond stud, a gold nose ring with a subtle design, and a gold belly button ring with a small diamond.

Andrew: "I'll take these ones, please."

The salesgirl nods, assessing the jewelry and piercings Andrew has chosen.

Salesgirl: "Alright, great choices! For the belly button ring, we usually recommend a barbell or a ring with a 7-8mm length to account for any swelling. For the nose ring, a standard 18-gauge stud or a captive bead ring will work well. And for the earrings, we'll start you off with a standard 20-gauge stud for the earlobe."

Andrew receives the message from Sam, reading about the request for a 00 gauge piercing.

Andrew: "Sam wants me to get a 00 gauge piercing?"

Andrew thought 00 gauge meant the smallest piercing while the salesgirl was enjoying this scenario and decides not to tell anything to Andrew.

The salesgirl, seeing Andrew's confusion, was a bit amused but decided not to reveal the truth about 00 gauge piercings yet.

Salesgirl: "Yeah, a 00 gauge is pretty standard for piercings. Don't worry, I'll make sure everything is sized correctly for you."

The salesgirl leads Andrew to a small room with a bed and has him lie down on it.

Salesgirl: "Alright, just lay back and relax. I'll get everything prepared for the piercings."

Andrew lies down on the bed, feeling a mix of anticipation and a little bit of nervousness.

Andrew: "Ok... I'm ready."

The salesgirl explains the upcoming procedure.

Salesgirl: "Great. So, I'll be starting with the lower lobe piercing first. This is the easier one, so it shouldn't be too bad."

The salesgirl sanitizes the area on Andrew's earlobe and then positions the needle.

The salesgirl carefully lines up the needle and then pierces Andrew's earlobe in a swift, professional manner.

Andrew: "Ow, that stung."

Salesgirl: "I warned you. It's almost done. Just need to put in the stud."

The salesgirl then places the diamond stud earring into Andrew's freshly pierced earlobe.

Salesgirl: "There you go, the first one is done. Let's move on to the nose now."

Andrew nods, bracing himself for the next piercing.

Andrew: "Alright, I can handle it. Let's do the nose."

The salesgirl cleans the area on Andrew's nose and preps for the nose piercing.

Salesgirl: "This one may hurt a bit more, but it'll be quick. Just relax and take a deep breath."

The salesgirl then pierces Andrew's nose with a quick, precise movement.

Andrew: "Ow, that stung too!"

Salesgirl: "I know, I know. But you're doing great! Just a bit more, and we'll be done."

The salesgirl then places the gold nose ring into the newly-pierced nose.

Salesgirl: "There you go, the nose is done too. Now it's time for the belly button."

Andrew takes a deep breath and mentally prepares himself for the third and final piercing.

Andrew: "Ok, let's get this over with."

The salesgirl sanitizes and marks the spot on Andrew's belly button, prepping for the piercing.

Salesgirl: "This one might be the most sensitive one, but it'll be quick too. Take another deep breath, and we'll get it done in no time."

Andrew obeys and takes a deep breath, bracing himself for the piercing. The salesgirl then positions the needle and punctures Andrew's belly button.

Andrew: "Ow, that one really hurt!"

Salesgirl: "Yeah, I warned you about that one. But you're almost done. Just have to put in the belly ring and then we're all set."

The salesgirl grabs the gold belly ring and inserts it into the freshly-pierced belly button.

Salesgirl: "And there you have it, all three piercings done. How do you feel?"

Andrew: "Terrible."

Salesgirl: "I know it hurts now, but the pain will subside soon. These are pretty standard piercings, so they'll start to feel normal in a few days."

Andrew looks at himself in the mirror, seeing the new piercings on his ear, nose, and belly button. He feels a mix of pain, shock, and a hint of excitement.

Andrew looks at the salesgirl and asks, curious about the healing process.

Andrew: "So, how long do these piercings take to heal? Like, how long do I need to keep the jewelry in?"

Salesgirl: "It typically takes around 6 to 8 weeks for piercings to fully heal. During that time, you should keep the jewelry in at all times to allow the skin to heal properly around it. Removing the jewelry too soon could cause the piercing to close up or get infected."

Andrew: "Ok, and if I remove my earring, nose ring, or belly button ring after this 8 weeks, how long would it take for the piercing to close?"

Salesgirl: "It can take several months for the piercings to close completely after they've healed."

Andrew: "What do you mean by several months?"

The salesgirl clarifies, using an example.

Salesgirl: "For instance, if you remove an ear piercing that's been healing for 6 weeks, it might take a minimum of 2 or 3 months for the hole to start closing, and it could take a few more months beyond that for it to fully close. It really depends on how your body heals and responds to the piercing."

Andrew: "Oh, I heard it takes days or weeks for piercings to close. Like, 24 gauge ones aren't they bigger than 00?"

Salesgirl: "That's right. The smaller the gauge (like 24 gauge), the less time it typically takes for the piercing to close up. 00 gauge is actually quite large, so it would likely take significantly longer for the hole to close up compared to something like a 24 gauge."

Andrew: "00 is larger? I didn't know that."

The salesgirl nods and explains further.

Salesgirl: "Yes, 00 gauge is quite a large size for a piercing. The numbers refer to the size of the jewelry, with larger numbers indicating a larger gauge. For comparison, an 18 gauge is much smaller than a 00 gauge, and it would typically heal much faster when removed."

Andrew realizes his mistake and winces as the fabric of his shirt brushes against his belly piercing, causing him to realize his mistake.

Salesgirl: "Ah, you're feeling it now, huh? Wearing a tight shirt can irritate a fresh piercing. I recommend you wear something looser and more flowy, like a crop top. It'll be more comfortable and won't apply pressure on the piercing."
