"I was getting used to being a good guy" "my hands are dirty and always will be right?" This was Fusco's episode afaic. Those lines plus his speech when the gun was on him hit, Kevin Chapman always makes the most out of Fusco's scenes but usually via one liners but you could hear the sincerity of Fusco liking the possibility of redemption and the sadness of having to be dirtier than when Reese met him.

Very heartbreaking, even that final scene, you could just tell how crushed he was. All that work and he is being forced to regress and it's not something he wants to do

I'm going to adapt one of my favorite movie lines here for Fusco... Just when he thought he was out, they pushed him back in. Really felt for him in that scene. But it potentially opens up so much with HR. Everything continues to build. I hope the folks who said they were checking this out for the first time are still watching. They won't regret it. It may seem like just a procedural, but there's so much more.

In the pilot Reese pegged Fusco as loyal and this also showed Reese made a good judgment because gun to his head, Fusco wasn't giving Reese up and went to HR acting like he did it despite clearly hating it. From Reese's side, he may not have told Fusco "you are the darkness " but he is somewhat acting like a handler by putting Fusco in this situation, though he did prove he does care about Fusco to the point of making sure he rushed to save him contrary to what the dirty cop said.

I was actually wondering about the first timers, too. I hope they've stuck around. I think even right from the start even the procedural aspect was better than your average procedural and they did a good job from the early episodes of showing depth. I watched from the beginning as it aired because I liked the actors in other projects and it hooked me on its own

Agreed, me too. I watched it weekly as it aired... and was impressed with the storytelling & performances from the outset. And intrigued because you see all these threads being woven. I know if 1st timers keep watching, they'll be glad they did.
