The part when Aegon called himself “the Realm’s Delight”, is interesting because that’s actually the epithet that Rhaenyra had when she was born and when she was a child. People called her the Realm’s delight. So for Aegon to say that about himself I think reflects how jealous he always was of Rhaenyra as the sole focus of their father’s endearment. He was never considered for the throne and he knows it. It was always Alicent (herself pressured by Otto) telling him he should be the heir but Aegon never felt that love from his father and I think he always craved that.
