In dragon ball super hero movie when piccolo got his orange form dende explained that at a certain age he could do the same thing as guru on namek and awaken the potential of others. So seeing as this old Nemikean has the ability to locate retrieve and fix a the stone dragon balls. That means dende is gonna be a real Kami in the future.

I haven’t watched dragon ball since the broly movie 6 years ago. I know there was the super hero movie but I never watched that. Maybe I will later. Crazy because for the longest time dragon ball was the only anime I watched when I was a kid. Although this isn’t a sequel to Super I’m excited to be here weekly and also watch a story that’s new for everyone!

Power level-wise, I think they already went past it in DBS. That said, I hope it makes an appearance (or at least something that looks similar). It's the only form that resembles or references a Saiyan's' ability to turn into a giant ape to wreck shit up. Side note, I also hope they make the Power Pole relevant again. I would lose my shit if SSJ4 arrived with the Power Pole and the Flying Nimbus.

we did not know nameks were 100% demons at any point till now, nameks being from the demon realm is new lore just introduced in daima, before - all we knew was namekians came from the planet namek, not that they are literally demons.

I enjoyed the episode, but there were a few inconsistencies that I just couldn't ignore: - Why is Dende a kid again? He was a teenager in the Buu saga. They even showed that during the recap portion of the episode. - In the beginning of Super, Kibito Kai is still a thing, yet they're unfused here in Daima. Unless they fuse again somewhere down the line, this is gonna be a major plot hole here. - ALSO in Super, Shin and Kibito said they used the Namekian Dragonballs to defuse, but in Daima, they went with the old explanation of Majin Buu's body disrupting the magic of the potaras, so are the retconning the retcon that Super established about the time limit?

Dende in the recap looks the same as in the end of the episode. As far as the fusion thing, since it’s episode 1 like you said they’ll probably fuse them again (assuming they’re aiming to keep daima within the same continuity and timeline).

Toriyama never hated GT 😂.. He has literally said he accepted GT as apart of his story in a seperate continuity. Which is why Super didn't take place after Z. This now shows he enjoyed the concept of GT by returning to the roots of the adventure aspect of DB again

in the manga they revealed namekians are from different realm and now we know they're from the demon realm I guess or maybe they're from a realm beyond the demon realm and the demon is just the first they migirated to then the human world

I really like the approach because they're addressing and adding to the lore and seemingly trying to make the story very consistent. Plus the animation is Wonderful and we already see that it ties into super with the multi-verse highlight. I wonder how the demon realms dragon balls compare to the regular ones, it appears to be only 3 of them and they only grant one wish. However the way the old namek had no issue with using earths dragon balls makes me think that there's is on an entirely different level.. maybe super shenron level as far as wish granting? Also if ears indicate that someone is from the demon realm, does that mean all kais are from there? Does that mean Pilaf is from there too? This is getting really interesting!

It's just my personal opinion so take it with a grain of salt, but after years of reading mangas on the fly because I couldn't afford to buy all the tomes in order, I think the "better watch it in order or you'll be lost" rethoric is a myth. Even with missing information, your brain will always adapt to the context that is presented to you and make sense of it. You may not understand every plot detail, but you can internalize the characters emotions and the dynamics at play.

In East Asian mythologies, "Demon" is basically just a name for evolved beings that are neither Gods nor humans. Or at least that's what most of their myths are translated as. For example, Yao Guais are usually translated as "Demons". Even Faeries are considered "Demons" by their standards, so I wouldn't be surprised if Namekians were just considered Demons too. When you look at the origin of the word "Daemon", it originally just means "Guardian Spirit" and only started holding a negative connotation since Monotheism started a witch hunt against non-Monotheist cultures. But since Toriyama grew up in a time where Christianity was already prevalent (as you can see in his Dragon Quest Priest characters), it seems he was influenced by the negative connotation as well, and yet still managed to blur the line.

Also piccolo is of the warrior clan unlike Kami and dende of the dragon clan who can make dragon balls and have special abilities. I doubt it, they stated Daburas father as the previous king. Also we know king piccolo and Kami were one being before splitting and that he came from namek. He also didn’t have any memory from namek or other namekians. Demon king was probably more of a title he came up with after splitting since he’s the evil side

no. demon king piccolo was born when the namekian before Kami split his evil and good halfs on earth to become the guardian of earth (kami), this happened prior to og dragon ball but within the last 200-400 years. we know this namekian was the child of a namekian that escaped the great drought that nearly killed all the namekians on planet namek, according to lord Guru. the namekians we have all seen up to this point in the story were never born in the demon realm. the "demon king piccolo" name is more about how evil the dude was.

no. his "father" demon king piccolo was created on earth when the nameless namekian split his good and bad halfs. one was kami the other was piccolo. this nameless namekian was brough on a ship from planet namek escaping the great drought that lord guru mentions almost wiped out the namekians on planet namek. none of the namekians we have seen up to now were ever born from the demon realm or come from there.

Man, I wasn’t sure about Daima after it was initially announced, but after hearing Toriyama’s passing earlier this year, I’ll be curious to see what’ll happen here in this new show he’s got… at the very least, they better have some meaningful mention at the end of this show giving a tribute to the man himself… The only part about this retcon that bothered me again (not surprisingly like Goku’s origin story) is how Shin and Kibito managed to separate themselves from their Pottara earrings early on, EVEN THO this was established this in Super during the Universe 6 vs 7 Tournament arc… Also LUPA: that wish in their “movie” was for (I think) to bring back the lives that Majin Vegeta killed… it’s been a while, but I remember somewhere along the lines…
