The casting of that specific dude with those features and them lingering on it was definitely intentional, there would be no reason for a random man to be socially inept to Dexter, it would serve no purpose in the scene. I would bet anything that it's Brian.

I get that Deb is abrasive and this is not me saying that she thinks any less of Dexter for not being blood related (because we know that’s not true), but her mom died and now her dad is overly obsessed with the kid he adopted and is constantly shutting his daughter out for reasons neither of them will tell her, all in her teenage years. It’s unfortunate but very understandable behavior on her end. On top of her being the only girl and clearly having to take up the “domestic” role since based on dialogue neither of those men can cook anything other than breakfast and steak. 😭

It's freaking insane how much the young Dexter looks like Michael C Hall the old Dexter actor especially at the end of this episode when he's in bed looking up at the ceiling. Also, having adult Dexte come back to do the voice over for his internal monologuing was a genius idea.

9:16 Incase those are unaware why this is of importance , that's a specific statement made by many PDs and Federal Agency whenever a NHI as called in the episode is involved. NHIs being overlooked wrongly compared to Judge's kidnapped child are the theme of the entire episode done through a theoretical experiment which is genuinely brilliant🙏

I've always been confused why people that have a need for killing the that serial killer route instead of joining the military. Like put that to use for your country or something. It just seems wild for Dexter to become a serial killer because then he has to evade the law when he could have joined the military went infantry and fought overseas.

I mean there are a lot of things off that they have to fudge a bit. If I’m not mistaken the Morgan sibs’ birth years were originally based off of the actors’ — so Deb was listed as born in 1979, but that would’ve made her twelve in Original Sin (‘91). So it’s more like 1975 now. Dexter had a high school reunion where he was Class of ‘91, but he’s twenty here (which, as I said, is also currently 1991). Also this would mean Harry’s supposed to die very soon, so who knows lmao

In the books, Dex and Deb’s age gap is apparently their real life one (7–8 years) as opposed to 3, so ages in general are just super random in this show lol

I don't think you understand what a serial killer is. Not trying to be rude or anything just trying to help with the confusion. Serial killer is a SUPER specific term, its not just "wanting to kill". Like theres a very good reason why soldiers aren't called serial killers, or even why killers in gangs also aren't serial killers. I would suggest looking up a description of what serial killers are I believe it would help with your confusion and understanding the character overall.

the original dexter and dexter original sin was both shot in Los Angeles and Long Beach, California. Only couple of season 1 episodes in original dexter was shot in miami.
