For me this was def. not their best project but it is still good and that says a lot about the quality of RV's music. Zimzalabim was very divisive and it's understandable but part of RV's charm is how they are not afraid of trying new things and concepts. They are the concept queens lol They could've played safe and came back with a Red, power-up-like song after their last comeback (Reall Bad Boy) didn't do very well but they decided to dare again and I give them so much props for that! I hope you check out their The Perfect Red Velvet (2nd Album Repackahe) full album even if its not for a reaction and just by yourself because imo its their best project! So many good songs. I'm excited bc this is only Day 1 so they'll have 2 more comebacks! (also I'm totally with you about not liking Power up and now absolutely loving it, many of RV's songs are like that where you need to get used to it and after a while you are able to appreciate them.)

This is where I miss your regular album reviews cause some songs take multiple listens to absorb like "Zimzalabim". Not me, I loved it immediately. It felt like rockets exploding over the moon in a shower of confetti. But my friend took DAYS to decide whether he hated it or loved it 😂😂😂 He eventually came down on the side of loved it last night 😄

That’s the downfall of only listening live. Usually listening multiple times gives me a better idea of how I feel about the songs.

(Sorry if I make some late comments, moved across the country last week lol.) Great minds think alike about the beat on LP lol. I liked them all enough, it just didn't strike me as much as most RV's projects. But I thought LP was crazy good on first listen between that beat and all the jazz chords, sax, vocal syncopation.
