**BLUE-TONED HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

We're starting the second "Act" of the season and it's all about rebellion, revolution, and oh...RESURRECTION!? Apparently So!

This episode had so many elements I was not expecting, but my brother is SO excited, I am SO nervous, and we are SO hyped for what all Arcane is going to give us in Act II! But will Jinx and co. make it out unscathed? *Dark Laughter*

Haha you really didn't like that Cait/Maddie match up, i'm glad you at least gave some of that ire to Cait at the end there as we don't know how it happened. Did Maddie as soon as she saw an opening slide in to snatch poor emotionally vulnerable Cait away? or was it Cait herself, the skirt chaser that she is, that got her claws in poor little innocent Maddie? we just don't know. Also, how long was the time skip? a few weeks? several months? guess that influences how upset we should be. Yeah, no, not a fan of Sevika's new hairdo. :P Sadly i got a bit spoiled on Warwick/Vander thing as people started speculating about that as soon as the body was shown at the end of season one, at least that is the only thing. I've never played LoL but i had seen a few champions before starting this show and it was hard to miss witch characters were champions in the game when season one was coming out. Guess that could also be seen as a bit spoilery as i do think they have quite the higher chance of surviving this show, but we will see.

Spoilers . . . . . . . . . . Hey! I'm modding the comment for this show. Can you remove the part about "I'm sure Vi and Cait will find their way to each other again"? I know you don't mean it, but Romania may consider it a spoiler coming from someone who already watched the entire show.

Jinx initially refusing to fight and saying "Jinx is dead" kinda confirms, to me at least, that she plans to die at the end of Act 1. At the end of season 1, she considers Powder "dead" and embraces Jinx completely. But after lashing out by shooting the rocket, everything becomes hollow and meaningless to her. So now Jinx will have to be gone too. In episode 2, when Sevika asked her what she was planning, she answered "to finish what's left of my family", it might refer to Vi, but it could also refer to her as well. And in ep 3, she was ready for Vi to kill her with the line "I'm glad it's you, it has to be you". She keeps pulling out bombs to kill herself and her opponent when she gets cornered (with Ekko in s1, and with Warwick here). But with Vi, she just kinda lies there waiting to die. She does not want Isha to jump in and tries to push her away. Then when Sevika activates the smoke explosions, she screams “This isn’t how it was supposed to happen”. But she didn't, and now Isha out of nowhere even brings the Powder in her back?? Then when Isha is captured, Jinx needs to rise again. Girl cannot catch a break lol. I saw a youtuber point out that the middle finger that Jinx lost can be interpreted as, at first, she is out of F to give, but then she gains the finger, the F back, starting to care again, lol. I think one more thing that differentiates Jinx/Isha to Silco/Jinx is that Jinx does not push any trauma or ideology onto Isha. Silco really loves Jinx, but he keeps trying to project all of his insecurities, his trauma, and his way of coping with it onto her. Jinx here is just trying to tell her about her younger days to open up and be more vulnerable with Isha. But like, Isha is so young so what stuck with her most is still the flashy stuff, the rebellious image of Jinx, preventing her from actually hearing what Jinx is saying. So what they have cannot be completely healthy, at least not in this kind of circumstance. But damn it, I love them so much. Ambessa is such a great villain, so brutal and manipulative at the same time. But I think the major flaw that prevents her from reaching her goal (protecting her family) is that she does not know how to express love to Mel. She loves Mel but keeps pushing her away (first banishing her from Noxus, and now not involving her in the black rose stuff), believing that doing so will protect her. But that just further put Mel in more danger. She lied (more like obfuscating the truth) to Mel about who killed her son, leading to Mel not being prepared and careful whatsoever, and then Mel was kidnapped. I'm such a sucker for complicated mother-daughter relationships so I'm incredibly invested in them.

I love the conversation between Ambessa and Cait. Ambessa is so manipulative and our little cinnamon roll dictator doesn't have the experience to fight back. First Ambessa convinces her that the problem is bigger than Jinx, which is true, but the Jinx followers don't want to kill them, they want freedom, something Cait previously might have supported. Ambessa ties their current issues with Zaun with the personal crimes of Jinx. When Cait tries to call out the fact that Rictus was the one who started the fight at the checkpoint, Ambessa bluntly says "You don't trust me" which changes the topic entirely from the fact that her people are trying to start a fight with the Zaunites. Next Ambessa suggests that they arrest Jinx supporters to find out where Jinx is. Cait says that "arrest requires cause" and Ambessa responds "what greater cause than returning peace to this city?". This is classic equivocation, where Cait is using the word "cause" the refer to due process of law and Ambessa is using the definition that means an important purpose or aim. By changing the definition of the word mid-argument she tries to trick her way past Cait's dedication to the rule of law. Cait asks "why peace is the justification for violence?" and Ambessa says "I know it's tiring, but you will never rest knowing that she's out there." The implication here is that the only reason Cait is resisting is because she's tired of fighting, which we know Cait isn't, she just doesn't want to start a war. Finally, Ambessa tells her "maybe you have the strength I do not: to forgive" which is a false choice, no one has been talking about forgiving Jinx and Cait is not in the emotional state to do so (nor is she obligated to.) When you lay it out, this is what Ambessa is saying "Either you let my people start assaulting and arresting people without due process of law and potentially start a war, or you admit that you're giving up on avenging your mother because you're lazy and you forgive Jinx." This is obviously a silly argument when you look at it from a distance, but because her use of language is so sneaky, Cait can't see through this manipulation because she's a sweet baby. Whoever wrote this scene has dealt with a lot of assholes in their life lol.

Hey Christopher! Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately, the moderator flagged it for potential hints/clues/spoilers for future episodes, so I could not read it, but thanks for the support!

Yeah, that’s a great point that she’s kind of hollow and wanting to end things for her - episode 4 really did make me feel the emotion for her character! There was a lot of nice set up to that moment, like you noted in the comment! Good points, there! And yes, I love that Isha kind of gives Jinx a reason to not “leave.” That’s funny about the middle finger! And yessss, that is why I really attached myself to Jinx this episode, because she wasn’t trying to project her own trauma onto Isha! She opens up about the good about herself to Isha from her past, but not any of the trauma and hardships, and that difference really made me gravitate towards her this episode! Ambessa is a GREAT antagonist and she’s fascinating to follow, but I agree that she does have the stereotypical “tough person” flaw of “they just don’t know how to love properly,” haha!! Poor Mel, right?! But I agree, it does keep me invested in them! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

Ambessa is sooooo manipulative but that’s one of the reasons I love her as an antagonist. “Cinnamon Roll Dictator” is also hilarious to me! She’s really good at just going around arguments and re-focusing them, which makes Ambessa so dangerous but fun to follow as the audience, even if she is frustrating! It’s a lot of fun to watch her gymnastics she plays around Cait in this. So many logical fallacies - I felt I was back in Rhetoric 101! 😛Your last line, though! HAHAHA! So true! Thank you for the comment - it’s fun to watch how this series works with characters like her!

Ah, i've removed the "offending" part but i still haven't watched the last three episodes so it was more the case of me guessing something right... i guess, so was i reverse spoiled instead? 😜 No worries wasn't that stellar a prediction.

I agree, we don’t know if it were Cait or Maddie that made the move - I definitely feel for Vi, though, so I hate that the person she loves was able to just ‘move on’ without us seeing her yearning for Vi, etc. I will admit it’s probably going to be a trend for the start of the discussion in these episodes for me to have “visceral immediate” reaction and by the end of the discussion to be all, “Well now that I’ve thought about it…” hahaha! XD I wish you could have seen my brother’s face on the hairdo for Sevika. 😀 I’m sad you got spoiled on Warwick! I’m glad in that sense that I don’t play the game, but yeah, my brother is a saint for keeping that under wraps for me! Thank you for the comment and altering it so I could read it! 😀
