Mo Xiang Tong Xiu gave us yet another romance trope: one of them is sick! 🥰 I just love how flirty and innuendo-filled Xie Lian and Hua Cheng are when talking with each other in these extras. Yes Xie Lian still gets a little blushy sometimes when he's caught off guard, but it's a great way of showing just how much their relationship has progressed without giving us specific details like we got with WangXian. Honestly when I first read the bedtime story extra I wondered if it wasn't a tale the ghosts of Ghost City didn't create and then spread in the Mortal Realm. But with the forbidden rooms and stuff I do wonder if Mo Xiang Tong Xiu took inspiration from the tale of Blackbeard and his wives, and just put a HuaLian spin on it 😆 But yes it definitely feels like something you'd read on AO3 😂 Letting your own mind fill in the blanks can definitely lead to much spicier thoughts than the detailed information we got on WangXian's sex life. HuaLian are so Boujee with their multiple homes 😂 I love for the second story that Feng Xin (who has canonically been with a woman) was more pure-minded thinking there was a monster on the loose, whilst Mu Qing (whose Cultivation method follows the same teachings as Xie Lian's in regards to abstinence) immediately assumed Hua Cheng and Xie Lian were up to some kinky stuff 🤣 Honestly the moving statues and deflowering of a statue is an absolute fever dream. But the statues becoming one...yeah my mind drifted to omegaverse and knotting...😇 I do agree with Xie Lian that Mu Qing's garden is gonna get renovated, but I have to disagree that he'll do it barehanded (in case statues were able to provide a certain copious something...🤣) But yeah Mo Xiang Tong Xiu even manages to make you jealous over statues having soulmates! 😭🥰

Yesss, poor Hua Cheng is sick and Xie Lian has to take care of him! HC, you are playing your cards well…But YES, these extras they are SO. FLIRTY. MXTX does a great job letting US fill in the blanks for what they are - ahem - referring to, throughout! Aahaha! Xie Lian is SECRETLY kinky, which is a nice twist after WangXian was just so OPEN about it all. Ooohhh, the idea of this being a “spin” MXTX did on a previous tale is fun – but yeah, MXTX definitely said, “Oh! You write HuaLian fan fiction? Let me try!” and blows us out of the water. HuaLian - the MOST boujee! To the point where JW and MNQ are like, “You know, you can quit flaunting any time you want!” ;) hahaha! I feel with MQ and XL getting all blushy and thinking of the most kinky things, it’s like a religious school girl who’s been denied sexual activity so they immediately cut to the most sexy thing, whereas FX is like, “Eh. Whatever.” XD I do feel for MQ, though, having statues of XL and HC “doin it” in his own garden - in front of his own salad! And yeah, at THIS POINT, MXTX is all but telling us this is just a closeted ABO story. Agreed - MQ may renovate, but he’s not going back out there for a WHILE I feel.
