Important

Since the release of the 1.5.5 update, I’ve been getting a lot of reports about old saves made before v1.5.0 Remake not working in v1.5.5 (the game freezes without any error when trying to load a save). This seems to be linked to the switch from Ren'Py 7 in 1.5.0 to Ren'Py 8 in 1.5.0 Remake, which is causing some issues. Interestingly, I didn’t get any reports like this after the Remake version dropped. And so far, there’s only been one report of this bug on Patreon. So, it might not be that widespread.

It mostly affects saves made early or mid-way through the story, though some users have reported all their saves are broken now. Personally, I haven’t run into this problem when developing the remake, probably because all my saves were made in the final storyline events that were available before the remake. However, if I run version 1.4.5 and make a save a few days into the game, that save won’t load in the current update, so the problem definitely exists.

It’s a pretty strange issue, though. I thought save incompatibilities after a major Ren'Py update affect all saves, but this one seems to be hit-or-miss.

I’ve been trying to find a solution since I noticed it’s a common problem, but so far, I don’t have any good news. I’m probably just not experienced enough with code to figure out what’s going wrong.

In any case, if you have non-working saves, I recommend leaving them for now. I’m hoping to figure out a fix for them in the future.

About the v1.6.0 update

The 1.6.0 update is about 8% done.

The rough release date for update 1.6.0 is set for the second half of February.

1) Events:

• 1 big event with Sara (from the previous day) -- 40% completed

Also, my plans for the 1.5.5 update include:

• event with Carol

• big event with Rachel

• 4th Anniversary special event

On top of that, there will be 2 additional events based on the poll, which I'll post in the next few days.

As for the other events, I don’t have solid plans yet since I’m not sure how big the events with Rachel and Sara will be, so I’m staying cautious for now. If I have the time, I’d like to add some events for minor characters like Kim, Lexi, and maybe even Sasha + Alyssa. I also have a main story event in the works, but that’s still undecided.

2) Renders and animations:

About 100 renders and 2 animations are ready -- Roughly planned: 1000-1200 renders and 8-10 animations

3) Other things:

• a few bug fixes
