I haven’t finished listening so it may come up (but I wanted to say something or I will forget) - The first part about poorly-organized hitmen reminded me of the case in China that was reported on back in 2019, where a guy hired a hitman to take out a competitor - but that hitman subcontracted out the hit for a lesser amount, to another hitman who then did the same thing, and so on, until five different hitmen had supposedly be contracted (for an ever-decreasing amount of money as they took their cuts). The final hitman, rather than committing murder, approached the target directly and tried to convince him to fake his own death. The man agreed to pose for a photo tied up and gagged, supposedly to prove that he’d been kidnapped and inviting the implication of his death - and then he went to the police. It was a whole thing.

I actually remember reading about that case! Reality truly is stranger than fiction. I know criminal activity is wrong but things like this are just kind of wonderful in a ridiculous way. I wish every would-be murderer was this comically bad at hiring murderous help...

"We're just fantasy lovers" I swear to god I can't find the Brooklyn accent hot, I always hear Edith Bunker from All in the Family, some wacky cartoon character, someone that nags your head off or gives you this annoyed look. it's why I could never find Harley Quin hot. Jerry made me think of a younger Archie Bunker.
