they do in fact call them bananas in Japanese as well, as in they literally say the English ''banana'' word.

I can definitely see why some people would be put off by the show with how abrasive it is in general, even with the alien probing aside, But this became a huge hit for a reason. The dynamic with the two main characters, the absolutely bonkers story, the phenomenal animation and the kinetic energy the show maintains throughout make it a really fun and memorable ride, and it does a really good job of grabbing you. This is one of the most unique Anime’s I’ve seen since Mob Psycho and I hope you see it through. Side notes: -Turbo Granny is in fact the same ghost that showed up at the start of Mob Psycho. It’s a real Japanese myth. -Ken Takakura is also a real actor, so imagine being in high school and meeting a kid named Channing Tatum. That’s basically what Momo is going through.
