0.7 Development Update 30 (Patreon)

Hey, folks!

First proper dev update of the year! 

0.7.16

We've released the alpha with a new quest for Cait, a-a-a-a-and... That's it, really. Goth Cait is fun, though!

We'll try to add the next quest from Cait's current arc to the EA version, but we'll see how it goes.

As I mentioned in the Alpha Download post, the whole team had a little break over the New Year days, and after the monster of the Heist update we had very little time to actually make new content. Nevertheless, the Beta should come out within a few days, and it'll have more stuff in it. 

For example, the first of the reward dreams with Cait's friends will be in there. Since it's a dream, we wanted to try something a little bit different. Have a little sneak peek.

Perhaps there's even going to be a voiceover. And maybe an animated ending. The first version of the dream should be ready for Beta, but I don't know about VO, and we'll probably tweak the animation itself for EA. Then we'll see what you folks think about it.

Then we're adding another thing I wanted to try for a long time. Very short scenes with actions that you can do when the girls are doing their thing. Something like sneaking behind Lyriel and squeezing her firm boobies!

To start, we're going to be adding actions for four of the situations: Lyriel brushing her hair, Rae checking out the freezer (yes! the ass slap is getting an update!), Naomi drinking in the evening, Cait having breakfast. Three possible actions for each, with four stages of progress. We'll do a poll later to see how you folks like it, and if you do, we'll do more of those, possibly with some additional conditions and requirements to make unlocking all of them more fun. Lots of possibilities there.

Future stuff

Speaking of the conditions and polls, the ➡️ first Gameplay Poll of 2025 is pretty much concluded at this point. The overwhelming majority of youse voted for more minigames, and us going all out on them!

Now, it doesn't mean that we'll drop everything and switch to making a full-fledged Magic Shop-type game within AHITR. We'll start small in any case, but we won't be wary of doing a little bit more than necessary if we so desire. Expanding the alchemy minigame is the most obvious direction, and there's a lot we can do with it. I'll let you folks know when the work begins in earnest.

Meanwhile, our talented artists have been working on the Valentine's Day artbook since December, and it's coming along nicely! I'll share just a single sketch for now, and there will be more to show as we get closer to February!

If you're one of the folks waiting for the 3D animation, I apologize to you once again. The lipsync is a bitch, apparently. We'll get it done, but I can't tell you exactly when it will happen. Should be soon. Sorry.
