Episode 2: Reading Club 2023 (Patreon)

As previously announced, the 2023 Reading Club will focus on three principal works. The first part of the year will be an in-depth reading of Martin Hagglund's This Life: Secular Faith and Spiritual Freedom (the UK edition's subtitle is "Why mortality makes us free")

The book advances key arguments about freedom and secularism. Hägglund argues that our lives matter because they are finite. This condition implies a shared responsibility as social individuals to own the time of our life. As a consequence, we are not and cannot be free under the way our society is currently organised, under this economic order.

It will be recorded on 24 March, so please send in any questions you'd like us to discuss by then. We will begin the episode by addressing your questions/comments regarding episode 1.
