One of my favorite characters from mythological literature, this is the cyclops Polyphemus. He was featured in the Odyssey of course, but has also been in plays and poems as a lover. Sometimes he loves women, notably the sea nymph Galatea, but other times he was written as a lover of men as well like the old satyr Silenus. Anyway today I worked on this portrait of the monster, but might do more with him later this month. :)

Ah, Polyphemus, Silenus and Bacchus. What fun they must have had. It's always wonderful to see a DB piece with such detail with the hair. It shows tremendous talent being so meticulous with the details. Amazing as always.

Oh my god, I just love this piece! His expression alone is just so beautiful. Stupid sexy cyclops!

Honestly, I'm sure he has just the warmest, most adorable smile. ^u^

Thanks for mentioning the hair. Yep, meticulous is hitting the nail right on the head, lol. But It's also why I enjoy doing portraits from time to time: Lots of space to spend time on those super fine details.

Please do more with them later on I would love to see the same loving intensity in a how should I say larger scale?

You know, I love the way you handle beards and (in this case) the fine detail of body hair. He's not a full on fur ball, but it's still there! It's like you've had practice and a passion for the subject or something. ;-)
