I think that the high notes are not only objectively difficult, but they also make she feel the pressure, because everyone who listens has high expectations... I feel the pressure myself when I listen to her live performances of this song (and there are many!) I love this girl so much!!! I'm so glad to have casually watched Hotel del Luna in 2019 🤩🤩🤩

Yes, she was planning for a big concert on that day, but due to covid, she was not able to. So she decided to hold a free concert for fans at KBS. Also, covid is why in this video, there is no audience.

Thanks Aaron. Loved it. IU stated that her throat doctor advised her to not sing the triple high note in the end asdoing it repeatedly will damage her vocal cords in the long run. Also, the thing that makes it such a phenominal note is that it is sustained for 14 seconds on just her one breath at the beginning. This is very difficult because it is a straight note with no vibrato. Vibeato is a natural thing that happens when the note is supported well with air or breath fro the singer. She is indeed phenomenal!!!! Bravo IU!!

That look to camera before the high note gave that feeling of, “Screw you, imma do it anyway cuz I feel like I can”. I think that the decision on how a singer performs should be up to the singer themselves cuz they know how their voice is feeling that day, and they can determine what they can and can’t do.
