I feel like I am the only one who didn't like Wook from the very start. Just him falling for Hae Soo when she was his wife's cousin was very hard to watch. He might have his reasons (which seriously you had such a loving woman as your wife) but I couldn't ignore his wife from the scenario so them as a couple was hard for me to swallow. Nonetheless, his own selfishness and greed took control over what good he had, as Wang Yo said 'Its always the smart ones who turn out to be scary'.

From the moment Wook decided to turn his back on her to protect his family, Wook had no choice but to be like this. Being king is the only way to get her back. Of course it is not love. Because he's completely ignoring what she feels.

Actually no!! It wasn't the only way at first. He messed up because after the king died and crown prince Moo became the king, Hae Soo offers him to move away from the palace together. And they would have been able to, as the new king favored Soo as well as he thought Wook helped him come back to palace fast when King died, so he would have let them go and his family's past would not have exposed or evoked any problem in that scenario. So, when Hae Soo did ask him to leave, he chose his path to become king instead. That is why Soo said at that point that his main priority was throne not her and that he was using her as an excuse for making his consciousness believe it's all to gain her and not power.

I know, but unfortunately, Wook thinks being a king is the most perfect way. Even if he leaves with Hae-soo, he thinks he can be helplessly deprived of her again. He thinks he shouldn't make any mistakes if he doesn't want to go through the same thing again. Love is not a goal to achieve, but a process of sharing our hearts. I don't think Wook knows what love is.

no you don't get it. Hae Soo already said that she didn't want to share her husband with anyone. It would be uncomfortable for her even if she became the first wife. Plus So is marrying the king's daughter, which means when the king passes away he will take the throne. And then what? Hae soo will become a queen? I doubt that is the life she wants.
