I can always feel that Chae Ryung genuinely cared for Hae Soo, so i can't truly hate her for what she have done. Also, I agree that she deserved punishment but not like that. That is seriously fucked up, if So think about Hae Soo even just for one second, he will not make the decision to beat Chae Ryung to death in Damiwon and made everyone watch it. He knew how much Chae Ryung means to Hae Soo. There is no way him and Hae Soo can ever go back to where they were before after that. At this point he hurts her too much and the palace is a very toxic environment for her. I love and care for Hae Soo very much, so I definitely think that she should run away from him.

Did'nt anyone find that So has been changed so much . Very cold heart and cruel . And I think I can understand why Hae Soo wants to leave the palace. It's not because she doesn't love him . I really think she can't endure any more . And also the doctor said that her heart illness is because of too many shocks accumulated over the years . She really should leave . but at the same time Im so worried that So will do anything horrible to his brothers if Hae Soo not beside him .

I really feel that Chae Ryung genuinely cared for Hae Soo... Yes, she has the choice not to help the 9th Prince but then Chae Ryung was in love with the 9th prince for the longest time.. I feel bad for Hae Soo coz she endured a lot but in the end she still was not a "perfect" match for the King. That, "she can only offer comfort" to Wang So must have hurt her a lot but she has no choice but to let go of the dream of being married to him..

And this may be an unpopular opinion, but for me Jung's love for Hae Soo was the purest.. Because, he did not forced himself on her, he waited for Hae Soo to seek him in her own free will... And I think, he's still not confessing his feelings to Hae Soo coz he does not want Hae Soo to be burdened by his feelings...

Yes, I think at this point, Hae Soo is hurting too much and maybe the reason why she said that "she's willing"... She just wanted to escape the pain... And maybe what Chae Ryung mentioned in her letter that "whether there is value in doing something or not, that is something you can answer for yourself" has something to do with her decision.. coz i noticed her looking around her room after reading that bit...

If I put myself in Hae Soo’s shoes, I will definitely want to leave the palace too. She’s seen so many of her friends die there and she is physically ill, knowing that she won’t live very long. She won’t be able to endure this anymore. If I was her, I would make the same decision. Plus, knowing that Wang So is becoming more furious and cruel because of everything that is involved with her, I can understand why Soo is willing to leave him although she still loves him. It will be so heartbreaking to see someone you love becoming more violent because of you.

Watching this again makes me understand about Hae Soo’s decision. The punishment scene is traumatizing. The palace is the place where she has witnessed the death of everyone she cares about.

Just like no one can get away with murder here in modern society, no one was above the law when it came to murdering the King. That's considered treason and automatically results in execution. The fact that So probably knew about this beforehand and tried to save Chae ryung the first time already says a lot about his love for Hae Soo. The reason why he wasn't able to show her mercy in the end is because people were going to find out, which would put question his strength as king. He needed to make an example out of her. I don't blame So for killing Chae Ryung, because there should be no exceptions for treason. If he shows one person leniency, then other people will take advantage as well. However, I also don't blame Hae Soo for wanting to escape that place. She's seen too many deaths of her loved ones and that's traumatizing. Not to mention it's already hard enough dealing with So being with someone else. Then there's also her health. I desperately wanted them to be together, however given their circumstances, it's a matter of "the right person but wrong time".

No dude... Jung was let off the hook and So spared his life because he's his brother and he NEVER murdered the king while Chae Ryung literally murdered like 2 kings with the mercury thing so it's obvious she would be put to death. This is so common in historical dramas where you can get executed for treason like this. And Hae Soo is from the modern world so she doesn't understand So and the politics behind it.
