There is a really funny story behind the "Super floaty wood" that the ship used to ascend in the water. All the way back in Alabaster, Sanji managed to break out Luffy and the others from a cell under crocodiles casino by using a key from Mr. 3's candel wax. After the crew escapes crocodile shows up, seeing Mr. 3 knocked out floating in the water. In the anime he is floating on a table, but in the manga he is just floating in the water... Now this is obviously a mistake since Mr. 3 ate a devils fruit and should not be able to float (in fact Luffy and Smoker were close to drowning in that exact water). Oda was asked about this and responded with "Ohhh it's not a mistake, there is just a tiny piece of super floaty wood under Mr. 3's back that you can't see". Then years and hundreds of chapters later, "Super floaty wood" is a canon part of the story xD

Tashigi was promoted from a low non-commissioned rank (Loguetown) to Ensign to Captain while Smoker went from Captain (Loguetown) to Commodore to impressive Vice Admiral.

To me its absolutely WILD how Nami did not learn about new world log poses in the 2 years she was training. I'm pretty sure the weather island she was at also travels over the new world. Surely they knew what the new world was about, they love weather and have to know navigation for sure. Yet she didn't know about the new world log pose? Bewildering xD
