On this episode of Fancy Movie Time with Brian and A.J., the Fancy Lads continue their streak of covering movies with infectious theme songs as they dive deep into the derelict dystopia of Terry Gilliam’s Brazil. Does the shocking violence and razor sharp satire make for a fancy feast? Or do its Gilliamisms make it a failure to fancy? Either way bababa/bababadaba ohgodgetitoutofmy-BRAAAZZZZIIIILLLLLL!!!!!

im so daddy i havent slept in a year

There's this feeling of being around 13, listening to something like Creed, driving in the low sun to a place my dad hasn't been living for very long, planning on spending the evening playing ps2 games. Listening to 00s Rock, looking forward to playing games but feeling somewhat unsettled, between the divorce and puberty there's an almost adventurous uncertainty that mixes with the fun of being at my dad's that makes a golden nostalgia. I feel it again when enjoying Titan A.E., Treasure Planet, Smash Mouth, the Goo Goo Dolls, Digimon, and Gauntlet Dark Legacy.

Batshit visuals, vivid worldbuilding, problems with women, annoying music, the director's magnum opus, perfect movie for the Bush era…a treat to hear the fancy lads review Southland Tales

May I recommend "The Werckmeister Harmonies" for this show? I'd love to hear your thoughts on that.

Multiple cuts of films can be such an annoying thing. I'm so glad one of my favorite films, Kingdom of Heaven, does not have that problem. Just the one long cut and that's it. Can you imagine if the first release of that film had been with large segments of plot and character development excised? How crazy would that have been...
