Hi everyone,

Today I bring you a new release of HTopia featuring something I should had probably included in my engine since day 1: Multiple character support during dialogues! But hey, better late than never!

Among other things, we also have a new beautiful dungeon Crypt tileset available in the Sewers, which has replaced the previous ugly tileset it had.

A new amazing music theme for dates!

The Spa is now an actual location you can enter instead of triggering it directly from Uptown, so you can now enter the Spa and relax, and you can even purchase the property if you're going that route.

Anyway, here are the rest of the details in case you're curious, otherwise just jump right into the game! ;)


ENGINE

+Introduced a new way of selecting characters during dialogues to support multiple characters on screen.

+Refactor across code base to support new characters displayability.

+Upgraded several code dependencies to latest versions.

+Added dialogue command to focus a character.

+Added dialogue command to unfocus a character.

+Improved procedural map generation (dungeons) with configurable multiple walkable floor tiles, multiple wall tiles and door tiles.

+Lots of refactored code out of the engine and moved into the game where it belongs.


GAMEPLAY

+Added new Spa location from Uptown.

+Spa is now a real estate property that can be purchased.

+Updated Downtown's Food Plaza with sketch from upcoming original BG.

+Added Crypt tileset BGs for base, decorations and doors.

+Downtown's Sewers dungeon now uses the new Crypt tileset.

+Added CGs for random event when studying at Library.

+Arane's initial 'Family Dinner' story event updated with multiple character dialogue support.

+Updated certain Neruko's events that must happen only during the day.

+Updated Neruko's 'Bad Construction' story event to use the new multiple character dialogue feature.

+Updated some dialogue lines for the Smart personality randomly generated characters.


MUSIC

+Added new original music theme for dates by @melomelonine.


BUG FIXES

+Several code improvements and bug fixes across the board.

+Fixed a bug where player or characters consuming items that had a ranged value would not be consumed properly.


This update should be backwards compatible since v0.1.6
