[Marvel: I Started by Containing SCPs] Chapter 216 (Patreon)

The people above ground were still fervently discussing their encounters. Without exception, they all described sightings of the underground Flame Giant, and the number of victims had already grown significantly.
Diana boldly descended from the sky, landing directly in front of a deep chasm. Her sudden appearance immediately drew everyone's attention.
Unfazed by their stares, she examined the abyss before her. It was incredibly deep, its bottom shrouded in mystery.
"Miss, please stay back," a police officer cautiously approached, trying to dissuade her.
In the next moment, Diana looped her Lasso of Truth around the officer's arm, startling the onlookers.
"Don't worry, this will simply compel you to speak the truth," Diana calmly reassured him.
"Has anyone gone down to investigate? How many casualties? Did they see anything down there?"
She fired off a series of questions.
"Some people went down, but none of them returned. Over the radio, they reported encountering a monster before the transmissions went silent."
"We're still counting the dead, but the number is over a hundred."
"As for what they saw, some mentioned a giant bat, others a massive humanoid figure wielding a sword and whip."
Compelled by the lasso, the officer's every word was truthful.
After receiving these answers, Diana retracted her lasso.
"Thank you," she said before, to everyone's shock, leaping directly into the abyss.
The crowd gasped and scrambled to the edge, peering down at the dark chasm in disbelief.
After falling for a while, Diana landed gracefully, her boots meeting the uneven ground.
"Judging by the fall time and distance, this chasm is at least two kilometers deep," she calculated, glancing upward before surveying her surroundings.
The subterranean space was vast, with numerous tunnels branching off in all directions. It was clear these weren't naturally formed—they were carved out by the Flame Giant's movements.
Considering the scale of the space, the Flame Giant's size must be colossal.
Diana prepared herself. Securing her lasso at her waist, she drew her Godkiller Sword in her left hand and the Sword of Athena in her right, venturing deeper into the underground labyrinth.
"Come out! I know you're here!"
Subtle exploration wasn't Diana's style. She called out loudly, demanding the Flame Giant reveal itself.
On the Yellow Lantern Jet
Bruce Wayne, monitoring Diana's actions, couldn't help but sweat nervously.
If it were him, he'd proceed with utmost caution.
Bruce Wayne: "Diana, be careful. This opponent is an unknown entity."
Diana: "Don't worry, Bruce. I've defeated countless monsters. I won't lose."
Bruce Wayne: "Caution is key."
Sanji: "Indeed, a lady advancing alone through such a perilous, dark cavern! If I were there, I'd surely serve as your knight!"
Sanji's exaggerated body language made him look like a seaweed swaying in the wind, boneless and ridiculous.
"Idiot," Zoro muttered disdainfully, rolling his eyes at Sanji.
"What did you say?!"
Sanji turned on Zoro, and the two immediately started arguing.
Diana: "Are you questioning me, sir?"
Jiraiya: "No, I'm sure he's simply overcome with admiration for a lady's strength."
Tsunade: "Jiraiya, shut up."
Doraemon: "Still, this space is enormous, with such complex tunnels. That Flame Giant must be huge!"
Loki: "Hmph, it's just hiding underground. Hardly a giant."
Tony Stark: "Speaking of which, Diana's already at her destination. Bruce, how's your progress?"
Bruce Wayne: "I'm at max speed, but I'll need another hour to reach Iceland."
Flying through the harsh cold, Bruce's jet cut through relentless snowstorms. The freezing temperatures and ferocious winds would incapacitate most aircraft, but his Yellow Lantern-powered jet remained steady and swift, unmatched by any other.
Despite the jet's speed, Bruce couldn't help but feel anxious. Several victims had already been claimed by the Snow Mountain King, lured away and now missing. He feared how many more might perish in the hour it would take him to arrive.
Back in the Cavern
Diana pressed forward, her search for the Flame Giant uninterrupted.
"What a foul sulfuric stench," she muttered, covering her nose as the acrid odor intensified. Even a single breath felt like it could melt her nostrils.
Suddenly, the crackling sound of electricity echoed behind her.
Diana spun around, only to find nothing there.
Clint Barton: "What was that just now? I saw a flash of lightning!"
Steve Rogers: "Where? I didn't see anything."
Clint Barton: "It was brief, but I caught a glimpse!"
Tony Stark: "Come on, I didn't see anything. How could there be lightning down there?"
Natasha Romanoff: "No, I saw it too. There was definitely a flash of lightning."
Daigo: "Could it have been the Flame Giant? But what does lightning have to do with it?"
Dan: "Maybe it transformed into lightning! Don't forget, previous reports mentioned the Flame Giant could change its appearance."
Kizaru: "Turning into lightning? That sounds a bit far-fetched."
Diana: "Whatever it is, I'll find out."
Following the sound, Diana came upon a scorched section of ground, still smoldering. The area had clearly been burned recently.
Nearby, she spotted two charred corpses, their condition horrifying.
"It must be the Flame Giant! Where are you?!"
Diana roared, scanning her surroundings.
"Are you a coward? For all your size, you're nothing but a mouse! Come out and face me!"
Even as she taunted the creature, Diana remained alert, ready for any ambush.
The crackling sound of electricity rang out again, this time directly behind her.
Diana turned swiftly, just in time to see a bolt of lightning rushing toward her.
