"Mew~"
"Bi~"
A pink and a green figure appeared around Dak.
Mew curiously tilted its head, floating left and right, its vibrant eyes darting around the colorful world. If Dak hadn't said anything, it would have immediately dashed out to explore.
Meanwhile, Celebi clung to Dak's head, hiding most of its tiny body behind him. Its onion-shaped head peeked out cautiously, observing the world with timid curiosity.
Though freshly created by the system, these newborn Pokémon exhibited distinct personalities.
Mew, like a playful kitten, was endlessly curious and impulsive, eager to explore anything that caught its interest.
Celebi, on the other hand, was cautious, preferring to ensure its safety before engaging with its surroundings.
"Mew!"
Mew noticed Celebi hiding behind Dak and its eyes lit up with delight.
Though the system had instantly created them, Mew and Celebi perceived their existence as if they had been nurtured from eggs by Dak himself.
Yet, they felt no innate familiarity toward each other, having never actually shared time together.
"Mew, this is Celebi, your sibling. You were born together," Dak said, scratching Mew under its chin.
Mew's soft pink fur was smooth and pleasant to the touch, while Celebi's cool green skin felt silky and delicate.
These legendary Pokémon lacked defined genders, embodying traits of both or neither as the situation demanded.
"Bi."
Celebi shrank back slightly, hesitant to meet Mew.
But Mew didn't care about boundaries, flying forward to embrace Celebi and giving it an affectionate nuzzle. Celebi froze, utterly bewildered by the sudden affection.
The interaction was like watching a fiery extrovert interact with a reserved introvert—passion meeting reticence.
"From now on, you'll live together near that tree," Dak said, pointing toward the towering World Tree. "Protect it well, but feel free to explore the world too."
Dak had no intention of confining them to the tree like their counterparts in other worlds.
Unlike the mythical World Tree in the Pokémon world—an energy-laden mineral that nourished its world—this World Tree primarily enhanced Yggdrasil City's environment and air quality. Its future evolution, if any, remained a mystery.
"Mew."
Mew glanced at the World Tree, then nodded nonchalantly. It didn't seem to care much about where it lived.
"Bi~"
Celebi, though visibly uncomfortable with Mew's clinging, didn't resist.
"Oh, Celebi, I actually need a favor from you," Dak said, suddenly recalling something.
Carrying the two small Pokémon, he set off to find Madara and his group.
At this time, Esdeath still didn't fully grasp the nature of Pokémon, let alone the significance of Mew and Celebi.
Only much later, when she learned of their legendary status and found it nearly impossible to encounter them again, would she regret not fostering a closer bond in her youth.
Like Dak himself, these legendary Pokémon appeared to the public sparingly.
Back during Dak's adventuring days, Pokémon like Darkrai and Sceptile had accompanied him prominently, solidifying their reputations.
But now, with Dak quietly working behind the scenes, these "Primordial Gods" had faded from the public eye.
In time, as Dak retired and a new Alliance leader took his place, these legendary Pokémon would fully transition into "legends."
When Madara and the others saw Mew and Celebi, they were momentarily stunned.
Dak explained that the small onion-headed Pokémon could extend their lifespans and rejuvenate their vitality.
"These two Pokémon, are they…"
Izuna studied the pair closely, finding no trace of the imposing presence typical of the gods within the Primal Shrine.
Even the gentlest-looking Lapras possessed a fearsome backstory and aura.
Yet these two…
"Yes, they're Primordial Gods," Dak confirmed.
In Pokémon Island lore, there were no terms like "legendary Pokémon" or "mythical Pokémon." Instead, such beings were classified as "Primordial Gods"—Pokémon that emerged alongside Creation God Dak, endowed with divine powers.
Only one of each Primordial God existed. While a new Celebi might emerge centuries later in another forest, it wouldn't bear the title of "Primordial God."
"Mew is the Progenitor God, and Celebi is the Forest God," Dak announced.
He had already designated their titles, aligning them with their attributes.
Mew, hailed as the ancestor of all Pokémon in another world, possessed the genetic material of every species and could learn every move. Its ability to transform into Pokémon like Lugia or Groudon further bolstered its claim to this title.
Celebi, often called the Forest God, embodied the vitality and harmony of nature. While it didn't qualify as a "Life God" due to Xerneas' existence, nor a "Time God" due to Dialga's, its role was clear.
"Progenitor God…"
Izuna's eyes lingered on Mew. The title seemed so grand it rivaled Dak's own as the Creation God.
"Celebi, please," Dak said, glancing at the small onion-shaped Pokémon.
Despite being freshly born, Celebi instinctively understood its powers and used them with ease.
"Bi~"
Celebi flitted to Madara, its transparent wings shimmering as it hovered above him. Glowing green particles began to rain down, enveloping Madara in a soft light.
Within moments, Madara's gray hair turned jet-black, the wrinkles on his face faded, and his stature became that of a robust forty-year-old. Even his Rinnegan seemed to shine brighter.
Celebi then repeated the process for Izuna, Hanzo, and the others, restoring them to their prime while simultaneously enhancing their strength.
"Izuna, if you have time, visit Dr. Vegapunk on the outskirts of Alliance City. He should be able to clone a pair of Sharingan for you," Dak said, noticing Izuna's Three-Tomoe Sharingan.
Losing his Mangekyō had significantly diminished Izuna's combat prowess.
"He can do that?"
Izuna was intrigued. He'd thought Vegapunk was solely a Pokémon researcher, but Dak clarified:
Vegapunk's expertise extended far beyond Pokémon, encompassing biology, weaponry, and more. Creating a pair of Sharingan from Izuna's DNA wouldn't be difficult.
"I'll consider it," Izuna replied, already planning a visit.
"Mew, Celebi, you're free to play now. But remember to meet your other siblings when you get the chance," Dak said, dismissing the duo.
As a Trainer, Dak aimed to foster camaraderie among the Primordial Gods, minimizing the likelihood of conflicts.
"Mew~"
Mew eagerly dragged Celebi into the city, the pink and green duo drawing attention wherever they went.
In the following days, rumors of mysterious Pokémon sightings spread across Yggdrasil City.
These rumors attracted many visitors, who unwittingly became the first witnesses to the beginning of a legend.
From their tales, the legend of the World Tree City began to spread far and wide.
