Here are three short essays (for lack of a better term). They are less polished than some of my work on YouTube, mostly because they deal with much more personal topics. I think of these as a sort of 'practice'. In any case, I hope you enjoy!

Thanks for all of your support <3

I think it’s kind of poetic that, despite your struggles to find positive male influences throughout your life, you have become one for people like myself.

Brilliant. Wow, what a mind you have. Katherine is a very lucky lady!

Congratulations and thank you for these 3 little gems, indeed very personal. I hear them from a point a bit farther down the road of life and they bring a gentle smile on my face. I would guess that Katherine is either not in this world anymore or very far from your present life as you managed to pay an ivory touch tribute to that, obviously ,idealised figure. Our brain has a talent to keep mostly good memories and mature them through time, like a good wine: what a great piece of engineering! I believe creativity lives in that hiatus between total self control and horses freely running in an open and endless prairie. It's a commitment to some sort of insanity that is mostly not compatible with everyday life. So, if you want to be a great artist most of your life, I think you're probably gonna die in pain. But, I firmly believe that everyone should accept, cherish, welcome and dare to express the beauty and talents we all have inside. Father's (and mother's alike) are like the walls of that swimming pool: you need them to hold all that water, to help you gain momentum when pushing on your own feet, but, often, they also crash your nose or head if you get too close. The good thing if you feel you miss one is that they are plenty of public swimming pools available, and, personally, I prefer swimming in the ocean. Take care 👋

Michael - your writing and pacing are unmatched. This is the new standard. Thank you for sharing.

Brazza I have a similar dynamic with my father. Bastard son to a criminal. Never knew the guy. I remember wrestling in high school and the kids that had their fathers by their side seemed to have such an unfair advantage.

Your writing and presentation is very good. Sometimes I rewind your videos to re-listen to a beautifully crafted sentence. I related strongly to your descriptions of father figures. There was a period in my life where I would mimic men who I saw as more "complete" and you described that feeling exactly.

That's very kind of you to say, ty <3 wishing you nothing but the best -michael

You should really consider writting a book. Great job, love being the part of this community

I came across your YouTube channel a few months ago and I couldn't be more grateful and interested in the work that you have done, even on topics I would not have even heard or thought of. These more personal essays have only grown my admiration and I am as excited as ever for the next topic!

Thank you for these meaningful tidbits. Even as someone who had both parents present throughout my life, I too wonder if I’ll ever be able to escape my father and mother in me (at least the not so desirable parts). John Mayer’s “In the Blood” is an interesting exploration of that topic.

I am so glad that I decided to come here. Letter to Katherine is a powerful piece that gave me another view of what love can be - made me cry from elation. Truly wonderfull. And again second piece made me think about how I am creating and why I am creating. I will probably ponder over this for a long time. Most extinguish food for thoughts.

I am working on a book right now actually so this was very validating to read, ty! <3

my thought is perhaps 'escape' is not the solution so much as 'grapple with' in some successful way. but who knows. thanks for your support, and best wishes.
