Instead of making a video about Journey to the West, let's talk about why I haven't talk about it: There just aren't that many well-made and faithful adaptations of the novel, thanks to how unfilmmable the book was until the the invention of visual effects, and how most filmmakers seem to think the story is too stale and needs updating. This "adaptational chasm", as I called it, will be the focus of our two part series.
