Why not? I am sure Princesses also want to "freshen up" their style time to time. This may to be a really useful for them)
Pity that Starlight know only one haircut style...

Actually this is a rare case where I just tried to sketch something without idea and created this^^
So just one more random idea)

Also, are you trying new ear style? Celestia's eat seems kinda different from any ears you drawn before (at that's how I remember it)
