Your Name was first a movie, the manga is based on it. It’s also by Makoto Shinkai who does a lot of long distance relationship. His most recent movie is Weathering with you, released this year. One of is greatest work is 5cm per Second. If you want any other good movies to pick up you can try ‘Wolf Children Ame and Yuki’, ‘Summer Wars’, the Evangelion movies (the You Can (Not) saga is stunning), Ghost in the Shell, Perfect Blue or Paprika. The first two are by Mamoru Hosada, known to do movie about the struggle of family. Wolf Children is about a mom who learn to raised two kids alone who are half-human/half-wolf. Summer Wars is more action oriented and about saving the world from a internet ‘scandal’. (He also did one about being adopted by a single dad or his most recent about getting a sibling as a kid) Evangelions saga are a ‘remake sequel’ of the original series. You can watch it as a stand-alone but it’s related to the original a lot. Ghost in the Shell inspired Matrix so yeah. Also the story is different of the manga. Perfect Blue and Paprika are by Satoshi Kon, an amazing guy. Perfect Blue is about a idol who have a creepy fan and try to be famous (it’s really a masterpiece of psychology and social struggle). Paprika is unique and honestly a fest to watch. Both of the movies talk a lot about how society treat women. And I just want to add that if you like vampire, please god, buy the series Hellsing Ultimate (the anime). 10 episodes of 1h. It’s bloody, fantastic, fun to watch. You can’t be disappointed with that one. That was a long message, hope I helped you a bit for some future buy (I’m still waiting for the Good Night Punpun, I hope you considered it). Great video!
